The Flood

I love the video game halo, and im sure there are at least a couple people on here that play it too, and know what im talking about when i say "the flood" and im wondering if they're zombies or not? they're dead bodies right?

I think it could be said that the flood are undead, but, as to whether they are zombies, that would be debatable. They're certainly close enough for me to enjoy blowing them into blood spattered pieces though :D

The flood kills them and then reanimates the corpses. At least that was what I thought. Although the Captain was technically still alive but incorporated into an entity.

they are, the hive spores enter dead corpses and replace the nervous system with its tenticles using it as either a soldier drone, a juggernaut (removed from halo 2 about the size of a wraith tank) or a plague spore to explode and spread the flood, so there all dead bodies, in fact in halo 2 if you dont hack them into mush the small infection forms string the pices on the floor together to form new flood soldiers, so you cant get mutch reanimated than that, plus one of the books states they can do a 'bub' and recall the memorys of the host, at least till the useless head falls off.

playing the Flood parts of the Halo games and thinking that they are zombies adds alot to the fun IMO :)
