this is kind of a touching story. a football washed out to sea by the tsunamis in japan was found on middelton island, Alaska. the boy who owned the football had written his name on it and he has been found alive in Japan. the man in Alaska who found the ball plans to return it to the boy.
on another note: not many people seem to realize/know that an huge amount of flotsam and jetsam is going to be washing up on the west coast of north america in the next few years.
this story mentions a ghost ship (a shrimp boat) that the US coast guard sank off the coast of Alaska. incidents like that will be on the rise in the next couple of years.
