why do Brits give the rest of us bad name abroad

at the moment im currently on holiday in benidorm/spain and decided to goto the main boose up area where all the bars are, its nicknamed the square , there is an abundance of clubs and pubs with various types of entertainment
because id already had a ****load of boose i decided to have a sit down and observe all the young nutters of which there must of been at least thousand
mainly mid teens to early 20s all completely hammered on drink and drugs

i observed the following behaviour of my fellow Brits

1/ at least 20 people passed out just lying where they had fallen every one ignoring them

2/ various people openly vomiting :barf:

3/ couples openly having sex probably complete strangers to each other ( come on im no prude but there is a time and a place for that sort of behaviour)

4/then the creme de le creme , i watched a complete and utter asshole walk up to a complete stranger and these where is words " hey you ya f****r what you lookin at, do you wanna go for it" at this he belted the poor lad straight in his face the lad who was hit was a skinny lad who instantly did a runner to which the ass chased after him , after 5 minutes he returned boasting to his m8 that he had just batterd some lad he was bragging that the kid he had hit had been crying, at this i felt like getting up and giving him the kicking of his f*****g life but rrealised if i did this then i would be just the same has him



i here you ask where are the medical services for the people who had passed out

or even a police officer/s

the answer they where there but simply could not be bothered to intervene





I come from a background where i was taught respect for others these W*****s DONT i am ashamed to call them fools british i have 2 daughters and 1 son im damn sure they will not go abroad by them selves when they are older if they do at least the respect i have instilled in them will show

WOW. I am amazed that you whitnessed all of that and noone, not even the police, did something. It just goes to show that morals in this world are going down the drain. Very sad. it may have been the best that you did not intervene he probably would have clobbered you too. I would think it is the job of the police to protect people.

It's no secret that the english are considered to be the rudest, most brash people in the world. Many of them are decent people, but a good majority of them are just trash and belong in the rubbish bin along with the rest of the garbage.

The problem is with the youth and various minority groups, like the south asians.

I'm in a glass house on this one though, so I shouldn't be throwing stones. We have more than our fair share of deviants here in the states too.

A few bad apples do spoil the barrel and i'm tired of the way english hooligans and kraut skinheads are behaving this world cup.

If you're an adult, you should act as such, especially when you're in another country. Like it or not, you are an embassador and eyes are watching.

You're right. Most people abroad wouldn't give "p*ss in a catdish" for Americans either. But most of that stems from our governmental policies, I think. I know when I travel abroad i'm always very respectful to the host country. But as for the english, I think a lot of their tourists are rude and brash, and have a reputation for being so. That is why they are not liked. As opposed to Americans not being welcomed because of our politics.

I'm interested in hearing from Europeans concerning the behavior of American tourists. From my experience, we're very well behaved and still say "yes sir" and "no sir" to our hosts. More often than not, we're more friendly to people when traveling abroad than when we're at home. I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks of American tourists on here.

If I was English, or German, or Brasilian (for that matter), I would really be ashamed of the behavior of a great many of their so-called footie fans. They behave impulsively and ruin the world cup for everyone. The Iranian team acted with more class than anyone when they gave that Mexican player who just lost his father a bouquet of flowers before their match. That's integrity, and you can't teach someone that. Either you have it or you don't.

Sadly enough, many people in the west don't.

It sounds a lot like spring break in America or any other party I've ever been to when I was younger. Also I have a girlfriend who's from Austrailia and says that young people there do exactly the same thing. Also carnival in Brazil is world reknowned for its debauchery.

case in point me and a good freind of mine are both british, imagine that!, but we earned the nicknames jay and silent bob becuase:

1: my surnames smith im short stocky ,look like silent bob minus a beard, too many comics in my room, love of star wars ect. and to qoute my friends "allways has that ****ing baseball cap on backwards!".

2: my freinds got long hair and allways got a beany hat, smokes pot all the time and like jay uses the word f-u-c-k seriously about 20 times in two minutes....i aint joking ive timed him, and is all into 80's metal and believe it or not morris day and the time.

3:and we both spend way too mutch time at the mall (but we call em shopping centres)

I've met some supremely snooty, snotty, stuck up Brits, but I met awhole lot of cool ones too. I don't know why people think we (Americans) have a monopoly on being tards. Maybe bacuse there is a LOT more of us. Every one of the 50 states is the size of most countries. most are not like the tards you see on COPS. Some places seem to produse more dicks than others, but it gets spread around pretty good.
I have seen (and do see) plenty of Rudeness and pointless sadistic violence, but you remeber that. You don't really remeber the person who DIDN'T bother you, the old lady who said thank you, the guy who handed you the coin you dropped.

Now, with that ratio line of thinking, just think how many Chinese assholes there are! lol.

I've met a handful of nice French people, but everytime I've been over there I seem to meet the vendors who don't give you what you ask for (even if you especially asked them in THEIR language and DEFINATELY said the RIGHT words). I've been thrown out of a shop with some friends for shoplifting - when we were only LOOKING at what we might have bought had we not been treated as criminals simply because we came from the other side of the channel. On the streets I've been pestered endlessly by street sellers who simply won't f*ck off, yet more arrogant and snooty shop owners and...*sigh* oh I give up talking about France, it just doesn't sit at all well with me...:p

Back to my original point, there's assholes everywhere and some INCREDIBLY stupid people in ALL countries. But if it's Britain and America facing off on Top Trumps, then America with it's much, much larger population will more than likely (law of averages) have more assholes ... but of course in turn, have more good folk.

I think a lot of the problem is upbringing,if your parents are villains or thieves or general ****bags the chances are high you will go the same way as them as most children look up to their parents as role models.Also the British drinking culture is no good thing either.I like a few beers on the weekend but remember while growing up that everything in my village and surrounding area revolved around the pub.There was not much trouble but it was openly encouraged to go out and get pissed with your mates either after playing rugby or football or maybe a Friday with your dad.The majority of Europeans seem to drink far less in volume and have a different attitude to socialising rather than getting tanked up eating a greasy kebab and looking for a scrap.
