Civilian tactical firearm training courses are now using the Zombie Apocalypse as a scenario to draw in customers.

One the one hand, I think these "zombie training courses" are a good thing because it does teach people the safe use and responsible ownership of firearms.
On the other hand, in the eyes of the general firearm ignorant public it does turn gun owners into the butt of jokes and it also deludes those who haven't had proper safety training into thinking the real world is just like what they see in their video games. I've seen gunshot wounds firsthand and there is no 100% health "respawn" option.

There is MUCH more to survivalism than just guns. I really get a kick out of the self-labeled survivalists and preppers on youtube that post what is essentially just gun porn. 5+ high dollar firearms that look like they have been shot maybe 2 times (i.e. safe queens), a couple cases of MREs and these guys think they are ready for anything. Nothing about long term storage foods, water, first aid, communications, shelter, barter items, etc.

We used to joke about the SASS (Single Action Shooters Society, cowboy re-enactors) people a lot, but at least they are hardcore enthusiasts and know what they are doing. The graduates of zombie schools, i am not so sure...
