This looks pretty cool batfans:

Looking forward to it... after realising that traditional hand-drawn animation and a bigger budget is out of the question.

LMAO: the title at the end of that trailer reads 'the dark night returns' !
Ok, scratch the looking forward to it bit. No respect! ;)

Still, looks like a faithful rendering of the comic book. I've enjoyed the graphic novel for such a long time ( in fact I reread it after seeing The Dark Knight Rises ) it's nice to see others sharing the love here.

"Since when is Robin a girl? " that comment made me laugh.

If it's anything like last year's adaptation of Year One, it should be a good time. Nice to see how faithful they've stayed to Miller's artwork.

Peter Weller as The Batman? Nice. :)

And it looks like great casting all around in this making of special.

Just finished this and it's fantastic. Not quite as gritty as Miller's novel, but probably about as close as it could get. My only real complaint about it is the use of the usual CGI car and action sequences that has become so popular in cartoons within recent years. Although it's really not a deal breaker, it still looks a bit strange and stands out. The translated story holds up well and voice acting is great all around.

It's no surprise that this turned out great. DC's Animated Universe is by far the best comic animated publisher in the market. Has been ever since the phenomenal Batman: The Animated Series. I saw an article recently that said they were having some troubles and may be closing down soon. Hopefully that doesn't effect the release of DKR Part II. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

For comparison purposes:

Batman:TAS - 10/10
Batman: Year One - 8/10
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 - 9/10
