A french post-apocalyptic movie without any form of action whatsoever. It's a tense drama about a family escaping the (unseen) horrors of the city to take up shelter in their weekend home cottage in rural france. The family finds that life in the countryside is no better than living in the city in these troubled times. Lack of supplies, cold hearted people and personal loss make this one a pretty tight piece.
The film starts off great and I really enjoyed the level of realism. I'd put this one in the same category as The Road or Threads, rather than Book of Eli or Mad Max. It was apparently made before The Road was written, and I wouldn't be surprised if this film inspired the book.
