This pisses me off on sooo many levels.

Beyoncé did not sing the national anthem live at President Obama's inauguration.

Millions of viewers around the world were stunned by the singer's spectacular rendition of the anthem but The Times has learnt that she was lip-syncing to a pre-recorded backing track.

A spokeswoman for the Marine Corp Band said it was standard procedure to record a backing track and Beyoncé decided shortly before her performance to rely on the studio version rather than risk singing it live on the Capitol.

Ehhhhh, in the end she's just part of "THE SHOW"...
Disrespectful, but fitting, considering who she's singing it to.

:D

I can't say I'm bothered by the lip-syncing, especially considering who did it. It's done all the time in music (more than most think). Besides, who would it be 'disrespectful' to? The president? The current administration? If that's the case, who gives a rat's ass? They don't care about disrespecting us on a daily basis with their shenanigans, so I don't really give a shit what they think about it.

As Ron said, she's just part of the dog & pony show. Watch 'em prance....

Hypnotic, ain't it?
Kind of reminds me of one of those snake charmers. How he plays the music, and sways just right...
Except it's the snake(s) charming the guy instead.

I've heard it's so mesmerizing that it'll make you snub your hubby for a smackeroo from The Messiah.

Poor Bill. Now we know why he's got that roaming eye.

Who - the - fuck - cares?

Why is this news?

How can this possibly bother somebody?

What the fuck is this world coming too? Children in Africa are witnessing their parents killed infront of their eyes and then they are raped and have an AK-47 shoved into their hands... The U.S. has actively supported anti-government guerrilla groups that murder and decimate civilian populations in democratic south american countries... There are less than 10,000 tigers left in the world... Yet, all nobody gives - a - shit. But oh, fuck me, Beyoncé ain't singing a two-hundred-year old national anthem live? Fuck that shit, I'm gonna whine and make sure people know I'm not at all pleased with the way my national pride is represented.

Fuck this. Fuck this so much in the ass. Fuck patriotism, fuck nationalities, fuck anthems and fuck the human-fucking-race.

beyonce has fake hair, faked her pregnancy, and wears about 5 pounds of make-up on a daily basis....so i'm less than surprised by this.

like ned says, there's way more important things going on, it's funny how much attention this is getting right now.

needs to be an option "meh"....

I'm sorry.....did you forget that's what happens on the internet? People BITCH......and BITCH a lot about nonsense.

You could take your statement and throw it on every movie review that's been posted on here or all the complaints about Herchel's unlimited ammo. Instead of going "oh lame....." and looking for something else to read...you decided to bitch too. Glad you joined the club. :)

Though, If you would like to further bitch about the poor abused malnourished AK-47 wielding African children or dwindling numbers tigers....then please feel free to start your own thread about such topics instead of making attempts to derail this one.

BLAH

Anyways....It annoyed me for the fact that it's no different than someone refusing to remove their hat or put their hand over their heart during the National Anthem. It's sang live during sporting events so why would they lower the bar for a presidental inauguration?

They made the claim that they did it that way because this was a very historical moment and they didn't wanna take the chance to foul it up.....Well, what if the tape had failed mid way through or kept skipping? It would have made history alright....been the most embarrassing inauguration of all time. Just retarded and poor decision making....

There's a difference about bitching and getting "pissed off on so many levels".

They have a manufactured pop celeb miming a song, like she does to millions of her fuckwit fans on a regular basis and when she isn't doing that she's producing Auto-Tuned soaked vocals for her other "music".

Why the outrage?

There is no better analogy for the US government than this. They play the music, and for some reason the public is hypnotized.

Is it the same difference as whine and bitch?

Why the outrage?

Why give them a pass just because it's in the realm of normal behavior for a celebrity? Kelly Clarkson sang "My country tis of thee" live...I don't understand why Beyonce couldn't have sung her song live...I guess I feel robbed only recieving a half assed product for a mega federal event. It's really sad that more isn't expected out of the Obama Administration.

Alright, you deserve an explanation,

People bitching and moaning and getting pissed off at something miniscule and pointless such as this only gives this kinda stuff more room in the mediasphere. A mediasphere which is already polluted with shit that nobody should give a shit about, but we do. I'm kinda glad that she lip-synced to this, because the kind of people who would get irritated at it are not the kinda people I like. And I take pleasure in seeing them annoyed and pissed off at something, just as I take pleasure in seeing a reckless driver who puts other people at harm crash into a wall or lamp post or something and fuck up big time.

touché...but this board isn't limited to just the most important news worthy stories nor did throwning down a rant....help your agenda at minimizing attention to such pointless stuff. To each his own.

Ok, I'll say it: F**k the tigers.
Heck, the lions, too.
I've seen too many videos of people being eaten by them...
Do we really need them?

It's not a pass. It just doesn't even register with me.
