Take on Mars is a little bit like Kerbal Space Program. But instead of building silly alien spaceships to explore a fictional solar system, you’re building realistic rovers and landers to explore real regions found on Mars. Three 4x4 square regions will be available to explore at launch, including the “famous” Gale and Vitoria craters, all faithfully recreated using real satellite imagery.
Players without the time or scientific inclination can use pre-built vehicles to explore the Martian surface, but the simple Kerbal-style “snap” tools keep Rover building largely accessible to all. After loading up a rover skeleton, players simple choose what tool, camera, or other part to place on pre-determined snap points to customize their own vehicle.
