This guy went missing several years ago, so his family had him declared dead. Now he has shown up again and went to court to get the death ruling reversed, so that he can get a job, reinstate his driver's license, etc. But the judge ruled that state law prohibits changes to death rulings after three years, so he waited too long to challenge the ruling. Therefore, he is still legally dead, and has been since 1994, though he is up and walking around just like all of us living people.
