I'll save you the effort.

Boy bitten by radioactive spider.

His hair falls out and he dies slowly dreaming of gaining super powers.

The end.

Well....it's quite clear they're building up to the sinister six. In this trailer alone we see Electro, Rhino, Green Goblin(Hobgoblin?), and references to DocOc and Vulture.

I'm not particularly excited, but I enjoyed the first one. While not drastically different from Raimi's films, it improved on several areas. So I'll definitely see this sometime...

Yeh, me too.

I thought that last effort was much better than the Raimi ones. So, I'm on board for this.

Hopefully it'll be better than the previous movie, which was good for the sparky Peter/Gwen scenes but was lacking everywhere else and was rather perfunctory in re-telling a bunch of origin story we'd only just been given extensively in very recent memory.

Looks to be some interesting stuff in there, although you do wonder if there's going to be too many villains.

Still not watched it...

i quite enjoyed that trailer, though i feel that like most trailers these days, it gave away too damn much. the gf, nephew, and i will be in theaters opening day for this one.

and that costume is such an improvement over the last film.

This one looks so much better than the first/last one to me in so many ways. I worry about too many villains as well, but it looks like fun.

+1,000,000 to this. :)

Just got back from seeing it in 3D. I don't want to ruin it so I won't. Lots of good stuff, and very long. Can't wait to give it another look see sometime soon. Also, hang around at the end for some extra stuff.
A+.

To put this into context, how would you rate it against Raimi's Spiderman 1 & 2?

Not sure because I liked those just as much, but this one is pretty busy when it gets going. I do think this series is a bit more into "the message" than the others. There are things I like about both series, but I have to say I favor the new ones. One thing I was definitely glad about on this one is that Martin Sheen's horrid Uncle Ben does not make an appearance. Not sure what it is, but his oversized dentures had a part in it...
I will also mention that my wife won some moolah at the casino last night, and I recently saw the Raimi trilogy on blu ray as a box set with an additional disc for $23. I also saw they were selling each separately for $10, but you don't get the disc, and I think they are somewhat bare bones.
I will no longer have to pine for them, because I'm hooking it up later today. Can't wait to add this set to my other ones, like the huge XMEN one I own. This will also be sweeet because I never owned the third film on dvd, and when I borrowed my friend's copy, it was super scratchy and unplayable.
Yay for me, and I will probably browbeat my wife into throwing in a nice, shiny new Spiderman tee shirt. I realized I currently own nothing Spidey, it's mostly all Superman, Captain America, and Batman hanging out in my closet...
I hope the new movie KILLS at the box office. Last night we saw it practically alone, though it was a 10:30 showing on a Thursday night at the "not as awesome as the other theater" theater. I will also say I liked it in 3D, a couple of happenings really jump out at you.
Good stuff. Hope my little spiel helps, though I kept it pretty spoiler free.

EDIT: 9 am and I am already having a sit down with the trilogy on blu ray. Stopped by Wal Mart, couldn't help myself. On top of that, my son was just clocking in for work, so he swiped, and I gots it for $20. Gonna be an all day thang...

S'okay, those three characters have been in the closet for decades :p

I'm almost positive I remember reading that he was returning in some way for the sequel? I imagined there would be flash backs to his guidance or something like that, but all this time I assumed he was in the movie. Maybe his scenes were cut like the ones with Mary Jane? Or perhaps my memory is just playing games with me...

I could be mistaken, but I don't remember seeing him anywhere. And, not that it means anything, but I looked up the cast on wiki, and he's not listed.
P.S. Sally Field is getting up there in years. Her neck skin looked just like my ball skin...
