Seems a Zorro reboot is buidling steam! Sounds like they're going for a more gritty style with the reboot - http://www.aintitcool.com/node/66445

more of a Dark Knight-style unveiling of the character with a new backstory, gritty realism and emotional core.

BUT! Warning.... They're going all kung-fu on us too!

There will be swordplay, combined with the martial arts that came from Europe and created a deadly combination of action and lethal fighting systems that combined swords, daggers, grappling and bare knuckles.

Zorro is a concept which; so long as you follow certain guidelines, the sky's the limit. That he's a masked Californian Robin Hood ( just to keep it from getting too confusing. Although, He could be a She - just saying. ) and that somewhere in the story swordplay is involved. Actually, this turned out more simple than I thought. Tyrone Power is still my favorite Zorro. :)

I'm all for this.

Bring on the swordplay. Love this type of stuff. Hope it's better than the new The Three Musketeers film, tho. That one didn't really go for anything "gritty", tho...
