Personally I think it could have been so much better if his identity was ambiguous.

Didn't really need the Jesus part should just leave that to the fans.

Fantastic film IMO. A number of sci fi genre character actor favorites in a 100% character driven drama. Just dialog. No "action". Just pure acting & story, taking place in one location in a single evening.

Love, love, love this movie.

I do like John Billingsly and Tony Todd, I also noted a few Star Trek references but then the writer of this, Jerome Bixby actually wrote the Star Trek The Original Series episode Requiem to Methuselah where the Enterprise arrives at a planet meeting a man called Flint who is an 8000 year old human who was the basis for Methuselah, knew Moses and became Solomon, Alexander the Great, Lazarus, Merlin and Leonardo DaVinci. In this film John says he would like to go to another planet.

Saw this years ago, it was okay, but nothing amazing...more like a play than a movie.

It got bonus points for staring Tony Todd. :)
