i hate to sound like a cynic when it comes to anything goonies related, but i just can't see this working at all.....what's it been, almost thirty years? i'd be amazed if they could pull it off, but my gosh, talk about a challenge.

on a related note, i remember when i went to a friend's house back in the day and saw the NES game "goonies ii", and he tried to tell me there was already a second movie cuz he had the game for it....he'd never seen it, of course, but he swore there was a sequel, otherwise why would they make a game?

I'm not as big a fan of The Goonies as some, but I do enjoy it and I just can't see this working at all.

What's next? Stand By Me Too?(yes that's intentional)

I can see a Goonies sequel working, but it's best bet would be with a new generation of Goonies and some of the actors from the previous series having bit roles as parents or residents of Astoria. You know Data would be the science teacher at the local high school, Mikey would be the town historian and Josh Brolan's Brand would roll in at the end with a bankroll or as an authoritative member of adult society to Deus Ex the plot a little and drop the "Goonies never say die" tagline.

It could work, but the odds are long :(

Jeeeeerk alert! :p

I'd love to see another Goonies movie, but I get the feeling it'll end up in that same developmental vortex that Bill and Ted 3 seems to be caught up in.
