So the rebels have now shot down a pair of helicopters - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-27250026

Pro-Russian rebels have shot down two of Ukraine's army helicopters during an "anti-terror" operation in the eastern city of Sloviansk, Kiev says.

Ukraine's military said a pilot and serviceman were killed and nine rebel checkpoints seized.

However, separatists at three Sloviansk checkpoints told the BBC they were still in control there.

I think the Ukraine military need to go in hard now and not mess around. Clearly these rebels have decide to not go down a peaceful route. And I think they need to do it before Russia decides to send her troops in!

Russia has called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.

Moscow has said the use of the Ukrainian army against its own people is "leading Ukraine to catastrophe"."

Strange how they don't see "(armed) civilians" taking the law into their own hands and shooting down military helicopters as potentially leading to catastrophe.

Russian troops fighting in the Ukraine? - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-28965597

There was another report showing what appeared to be a Russian tank in the Ukraine too! Are things going to get super messy!?

EDIT:-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-28967526

"[Nato has] detected large quantities of advanced weapons, including air defence systems, artillery, tanks, and armoured personnel carriers being transferred to separatist forces in eastern Ukraine," he said.

"Russia is reinforcing and resupplying separatist forces in a blatant attempt to change the momentum of the fighting, which is currently favouring the Ukrainian military."
