This new technology doesn't flick between the left and right images, it projects both at the same time, resulting in a brighter image akin to 2D projections. And no flicker! Clever!

I'm not that bothered about 3D, but that said, some recent films I've watched I think benefitted from it - eg: Guardians of the Galaxy.
