Ok someone help me with this. I saw a concert on my tv with the Gorillaz. It is called Demon Days. Is this cat who leads the band a dead fan or what. At the beginning you hear part of the original Dawn soundtrack. This is the music when Roger is hotwiring the semi-truck and the blonde zombie attacks him. Trust me I checked it out because I thought I was hearing things. Also they have a song called "Dance of the Dead". Someone help me out.

Awesome, I knew they had done some sampling and a bit of homage, but i didn't know it was to that extent. Time to pick up a new Gorillaz CD.

Also, the Hompage of the Dead reference was cool as hell to see!

Thanks for the info. Just to let you know I'm more into classic rock. My girlfriend is the Gorillaz fan. I taped the concert for her so I watched and heard the music and freaked. I was loving it. Well I guess I will have to get some of their stuff and check it out. Once again thanks.:D

Um, there's no song called Dance of the Dead, but 2D (me) does sing that line twice in the song Fire coming out of the Monkey's Head.

and it was one of the best concerts ever. It was filmed in Harlem and I think the band (which is really mostly 2 guys usually) was something like 50 people. This concert, currently on HDnet, is one of the most beautiful HD concerts I've ever seen. The lead singer, who was in Blur, put on a great show and the stage design really maxes out in HD

Demon Days, the CD, is a CD I listen to often, sometimes 2-3 times a week while I'm at work. Its a great album. As to the Dead references, couldn't tell you but they do credit Romero and Dawn in the liner notes to the CD.
