The first (TV) adaptation I thought had some great elements to it, but seemed to fall apart towards the end. Infact you only have to look at my avatar to see I enjoyed some parts of it immensly :)
Anyway, so now we have a two film adaptation by True Detective's Cary Fukunaga? Fingers crossed! They've got some big clown shoes to fill though to match Tim Curry's clown!
