My last ditch effort to get a film maker for "Utopia", as mentioned in previous topics.
I guess I lost my co-writer, I dunno. So I'm back to nothing. In a last ditch effort to try and get this thing going and get someone interested in filming it, I will reveal the secret of how a straight to DVD zombie "series" can be made.
Chromakey
The series would be filmed entirely in front of a green, or blue screen. Chromakey is actually simple to make, and all sets/environments that charachters are in will be added in post production. No need for film permits, lugging equipment around, or ever even leaving your house. The software to composit this is actually free, so there'd be no expense there. The green/blue screen can be made with extremely simple materials, and if lit properly will be perfect.

All the guns are easy and cheap to get. Cons? they're toys, but with a little paint on the orange tips will be perfect.
Makeup
Color the skin, use cheap fake blood, and be done with it.
Story
How can you really make a potentially long running zombie series interesting? Well, it's not all about zombies. It's about how people survive when they've lost everything. Imagine battlestar galactica "the new one, not the cheesy old one", just not in space.
Can it make money on DVD?
How would I know? It hasn't been made, and we won't know till we try.
If I sign up to film it, how much will I have to do?
Just film it. I'll get the material for composit, which will be partly CGI, and partly real photographs. All a film maker must do is point the camera and shoot it.
You said "make money????"
We aint gonna do it as a hobby...
Ok, last ditch effort... :|
