BBC 4 are showing "Cordon" - a Belgian virus drama:

The first two episodes were last Saturday, but can still be found on iPlayer etc.

It wasn’t the most original concept. Virus outbreaks are a film favourite and central to TV series such as Survivors and The Walking Dead. Neither was it one for hypochondriacs: queasy close-ups of feverish brows and slo-mo sneezes were enough to cause psychosomatic hay fever.

However, it was well-executed, with winning charm, and convincingly rooted in reality. Deft characterisation made us care about these strangers and pace was ratcheted up to reflect the mounting sense of panic. I find myself hooked on another subtitled Euro drama.

OK... Four episodes in and enjoying it quite a bit. The first two are a nice build up, and now things are starting to go pear shaped :)

A little quicky/cheesy/unrealistic in some areas, but generally good entertainment.


ps: Wonder how long we have to wait for the U.S. remake? :)
