AAC to MP3 help needed...

ok folks... I downloaded an AAC file and it won't play on my MP3 player (I can't keep listening to Cradle of Filth at work). Can one of you nice people please tell me, it is possible to convert AAC to MP3?

A free software solution would be nice...

Winamp.com had a converter called (i think ) Db poweramp, or something. it works like a dream on anything.
