I saw the last one a few days ago.
The problem with it is that it's modern. Way to modern. When it all comes down to it, there's just not enough of a difference between a new Avengers film, a new Transformers film or a new Terminator film. They're all the same. Fantastic, over-the-top action scenes with high amounts of CGI, impossible stunts and almost apocalyptic showdowns where entire city blocks are levelled. Gone are the days when we get a personal story of struggle with characters we relate to who happen to get caught in situations beyond their control.

I'd LOVE to see another Terminator film. But I know that I'll be just as disappointed as I've been with the last two - both of which were emotionally dulled.

i watched the fight scene between the original terminator and arnold's aged t-800 in this film on youtube, and that was all i felt i needed to see. the rest of this film looked pretty meh. they should just hang up.

They couldn't resist doing something stupid in 'The Force Awakens' though, as they just HAD to have the Falcon swish through the sand on the planet...all without any damage or simply coming to a complete halt, which is what would have happened.

That really let the whole scene down INHO.

Also, the Falcon flying through the forrest on the not the Death Star too...bloody silly.

They simply couldn't have done that with models.

CGI just allows people do indulge in their idiocy too much, to the point of overkill.

both those instances of the falcon being indestructible had me rolling my eyes in theaters. my brothers and i went together on my second viewing, and both of them mentioned how pointless that extra cgi sprinkling bullshit was. totally unnecessary.

There was an audible FFS from us in the cinema.

Just completely unnecessary nonsense to put into a scene and SOOOOO easy to simply avoid, although I'd say 99% of the audience didn't give a tinkers cuss. The scene was fine up to that point.

I'm still baffled at how universally the film is liked. It wasn't bad, but it's certainly not 93% Rotten Tomatoes good, that's for damn sure.

Agreed. It's a very entertaining adventure. But that's it.
