So the author of that article suggests that all life that exists for the sole mean of maintaining existance is pointless, absurd and suicide should at least be considered.

I'd like to point that author in the general direction of the first 200,000 years of human existance, wherein little to no cultural or scientific progress evolved and where people lived in small groups in temporary settlements.

The life portrayed in Fallout games or TWD isn't some extreme existance unnatural to humans, it is in fact the most natural existance there is.
