Must be more of a UK thing. Ladybird books are for kids - there were loads of them - all sorts of stories for parents to read their kids and get kids into reading. The look of that cover harks back to the classic days of the form (so kids who read those books in that 'look' will all be adults now) ... plus the thing of taking an adult subject matter and formatting it as a children's book. Plus adding zombies to anything and everything.
