I’m not a fan of Tim Burton’s recent trend of remakes. He was one of the most promising and unique directors in the 80’s and 90’s, but lately he’s just been doing remake after remake, seeming to be devoid of anymore original ideas. With that being said, this one feels different judging by just this teaser. If relating it to one of his previous works, it feels a lot like “Big Fish”, which I’ve always felt was one of his best films and completely underrated.

But where's the rat? And the racist caricature crows? Why are there children? Where's the singing train? Why keep the ableist name? Are there any not-white people in the film? Does he even have a mother in this one? Who thought this was a good idea? Should Tim Burton just stop making movies? Am I asking way too many questions? Does the circus burn down? I guess we'll find out next year!

Too many questions for a teaser, blind!

Maybe some of those will be answered with the more story driven trailers to come?
