Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son

This is....surprising. Groundhog Day, the classic comedy written and directed by the late Harold Ramis and starring Bill Murray, will be getting a sequel in the form of a virtual reality game. In Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son, you play as Phil Conners Jr, the son of Murray’s character, and also relive the same day over and over.

You almost gave me a scare there. I thought this was going to be yet another "remake/re-imagining". Talk about "groundhog day" all over again!

Well this is rather surprising ... but you know what, perhaps it's a good idea to do oddball sequel ideas like this in another medium, such as videogames, rather than forcing another movie. Being in another medium means it doesn't have to live up to the same expectations or requirements (it just has to live up to different requirements, heh). So it's an intriguing idea ... kinda random ... but kinda intriguing.

Not that I'll end up playing it, mind, 'cos I don't have VR. :p
