Carol teams up with Daryl as they embark on a mission together; Siddiq finds it harder than expected to unravel a mystery.

How badass was Negan walking through the Whisperers with his bloody bat on his shoulders as he talked about his big balls? Legend.

The first half of the season, in some ways, feels a smidge slow, but in other ways we're still getting a lot of stuff happening and getting a lot of really interesting character interactions. Loved the stuff with Daryl and Carol, for instance (and her encouraging him to heat things up with Connie was a nice little touch, too). It was neat to see that exchange, them hanging out shooting the shit, and then to have Daryl - essentially - betrayed by his best friend (Carol), who had ulterior motives. Just how much is she keeping from Negan? Is there credit in that theory of Carol being involved in Negan's escape from the Alexandria jail?

Beta vs Negan was all good stuff, too, this clash of cultures and personalities. Other good stuff - Eugene and the radio, Dante (good to have a humorous character on the show in the wake of Tara's death) etc.

:lol::lol::lol:

Yeah, that was pretty awesome.

Kang's been doing a much better job with Negan than he ever got under Gimple's last two years as showrunner. In seasons 7 and 8 he was too much of a straight forward villain (even with the theatricality). The time was ripe to show his human side and backstory in season 7, but it was never delved into, and the most we got was some dialogue in season 8. Kang, though, has actually bothered to show us the other sides of Negan (which JDM has portrayed superbly). It's really good to see the character being used fully and in a variety of ways.

At this point I'm starting to believe that Carol had nothing to do with Negan's escape and it was all Alden and Earl the Blacksmith.

But.... if it was Carol then expect this reveal-

Only read if you read past the Whisperer's story line in the comic book.

Negan's cuts off Alpha's head and says "Wait until Carol gets a look at you" instead of "Rick"; comfirming it was Carol's plan all along.

Ooh, that'd be cool!

Neegan could be leading the whisperers in short time. He is 3 steps ahead of them. I hope he is setting them up to fail against Alexandria and Hilltop

What better way to improve your standing within the Alexandria et al community? :)

Negan's no doubt got his own plans afoot. This could be a major gesture of good will to his jailers.

Negan saved both Judith and Aaron at this point. What more does the bastard have to do haha.

Also, looks like Siddiq’s storyline is coming towards its peak. I’m scared.

Well considering his reign of terror, probably a lot more.:lol::lol: But he's at least putting some good stuff into the positive column.

One bit that was quite intriguing was when Daryl had that walker in a head lock and broke its neck - the body ceased functioning but the head (obviously) remained alive. I don't think we've really seen that on the show before, although the way he so quickly slapped on that walker blood to mask himself had me on edge considering the chance of getting an infection like Gabriel.

Still, though, the whole neck snap thing was a neat little addition that just stuck out at me, thinking back over the episode.

The neck snap was dope but the blood smearing brought back bad memories of FTWD.

Yeah, it was a bit too sloppy and it was really just his face - so not really all-encompassing. Perhaps having the walker right up against him helped?

It's always been an inconsistent aspect on the show, but FearTWD took the absolute piss with it.
