Tonight is the episode "You Know They Got One Hell Of A Band" written by Stephen King.
It's description lends me to believe that it bears a striking resemblance to GARs Diamond Dead.
It comes on TNT tonight at 9:00 central (US) there is a different episode coming on right before it too.
I have not seen this series yet but will definitely be checking out tonight!

I dunno about "Diamond Dead" but the short story was about a couple who get lost and find their way to a strange town thats filled with dead rock stars like Elvis, Janice Joplin and Jim Morrison, and they get so few people out there to see their shows

The synopsis they have up now is that the couple get lost in an unmapped town and there is a free rock n roll concert every night performed by an undead band, one your there, you can never leave (ala Hotel California)

Anyone know if there will be an episode based on "Home Delivery"? that would be so cool if they could do justice to the story.:skull:

Well, you were exactly right, no resemblance to Diamond Dead! The synopsis made it sound that way. Good episode nonetheless!

I think they wrapped up the miniseries with the last episodes-the band one and Autopsy Room 4. But I'd like to see more, they've been well done.
Home Delivery, the 'Salem's Lot story from Night Shift, the one with the slime monster from Night Shift, The Mist from his second clooection of short fiction, along with the sniper one, they'd make good episodes, I think.

Autopsy Room 4...did that invilve a guy who looked dead but was still alive, that was a good story in Everything Eventual.
Also, does anyonw know what the 7th and 8th parts are? I'm D/L them now.

I've watched all of them except the last two so far, which I have on the DVR. They have all been good to very good with the exception of Crouch End, which had a decent set up, then became 30 minutes of fluff/filler. Battleground was probably the best of the first 6 episodes.

Well, to be honest, I'm a huge stephen king fan and I wasn't happy about this series at all. Well, I was happy to hear they were doing the series, but I think their adaptations (with the exception of a few) weren't all that great. Battleground and Autopsy Room Four are probably the only two I enjoyed.
The ones I was REALLY looking forward to were "...Hell of a Band" and "The Road Virus Heads North" - both of which lacked the detail of the original stories and were much better reads than views. As far as the others, I could do without all of 'em. Kinda sad actually. It seems unless Stephen King is directly involved with a screen adaptation of his stories, they almost always fall short (Graveyard Shift & The Mangler anyone?).
However, that being said, King was directly involved in the making of Kingdom Hospital and that was absolutely wretched. I watched 2 episodes never to watch another again.

I just caught my first episode, thanks to Comcast On Demand. It was the one called Battlezone (I think). With the guy in his apartment that had a war with the little green army men. Wow, it was so freakin awesome! I really liked that there wasn't a single peice of dialogue (unless you count "Ahhhh!") throughout the entire episode.
The ending left me with a huge smile on my face.
Hope the rest are as good as that was!

Mike - I hate to say it, but Battleground and Autopsy Room Four are the only two really good ones out of the series. Well, IMO of course.
Here's how I broke 'em down personally:
The good:
Autopsy Room Four
Battleground (there's actually no dialouge in this episode whatsoever - pretty clever!)
The not-too-bad-to-keep-you-from-watching:
You Know They've Got a Hell of a Band (a better read, but not bad)
Umney's Last Case (again, a better read, but not that bad as a short)
The End of the Whole Mess
The major dissapointment:
The Road Virus Heads North (the read was sooo much better)
The "They shouldn't have even bothered":
Crouch End
The Fifth Quarter
