Mr Romero,
many fans on this board recently had a chat discussion and we all agree you need to cast Samuel L. Jackson in your next DEAD film. When Casting he cannot play a zombie, he must be human and a real bad Mutherfvcker.
So when writing the screenplay, please keep a part for our main man SLJ in mind at all times.
Thanks

What makes you think Romero regularly comes to this place? Hell...if he even knows about it, I doubt he looked through it all...

I would definately not want SLJ in the next (if there is one) dead movie. Dont get me wrong, I really like SLJ. But one of the things I like about GAR's movies is the lack of recognizable stars, not the inclusion of them. That is one of the things I didnt like Land as much for. I mean, instead of "World of the Dead", how about just make "Zombies on a Plane"? SLJ can say "I'm tired of these mother f*ckin zombies on this mother f*ckin plane!" The storyline can be that the FBI is transporting an important person, and they checked the plane for all types of terorist plots, but didnt think to check for zombies. Zombies can fall out of light fixtures, etc, and seek the flesh of those on the plane. Hell, we could even throw in a tribute to the "Return" series, have a zombie go into the cockpit and say on the radio "Send more air marshalls".

Well it's funny you say that. There was this script called Flight of the Dead a few years ago about zombies on a plane, and it of course was scrapped, but whats weird... all the characters in SOAP reminded me of some of the characters in Flight of the Dead.

Not a Romero film, but SLJ in a badass zombie film would be great. Infact, remember the action scenes in the Jet Li action vehicle "The One" where slowmotion and bullettime was frequently used, and played to hard rock and heavy metal music?
We NEED a SLJ zombie film JUST like that! Slow motion as our main man cleares a room from zombies and then drops the coolest mother****ing oneliner ever.

I can picture a scene...
Sam Jackson has to get 4 other survivors onto the roof of this building and he only has two 9mm pistols with 5 clips for each gun. The room that leads to the stairway to the roof is filled with zombies he and the others peak through the door and see them all he pauses a moment and cocks both guns suddenly in slow motion he puts the gun s up and crosses himself with one of the pistols (The father, the son the holy ghost amen) Cut to
Inside the room the door flies open in Slo-mo and he just starts cappin zombies left and right while the other slowly follow behind him. Each time a clip empties we see it slowly eject from the gun and then he reloads. While slaughtering the zombies he let's out the lords prayer (our Father... who art in heaven....) Until he kills enough to get everyone to safety, then just as he gets them to the roof and they take off in the helicopter he aims and shoots at an Oxygen tank on the building blowing the whole place up and his last words are
AMEN MUTHERFVCKER! :D

Worst idea ... ever ... surely?
Hell No.
George likes African American Leads, why not have the baddest Muther of them all?
Sounds corny to some people, but I know Sam is a good enough actor to pull it off and would make it a fun ride none the less.

Quality unknown actor EVERY single time.
When i see your african american lead going all ape and smashing some zed skulls in ... i wanna be thinking to myself "That guy is pretty cool, im glad GAR chose that guy" and not " Hey, it's that Samuel Jackson guy from Pulp Fiction, Star Wars .. .and Snakes on a Plane"

Ok, at first I thought his meds were getting to him... but the more I think about it, the more I think this is a really good idea.
SLJ & GAR... kinda has a ring to it, doesn't it? :D

You see, this is where GAR would have to make a notable exception, an exception that everyone would eventually agree is quite possibly the best decision ever made.
I want to see him unleashing his badass mother****ing ways against a whole army of mother****in zombies.

Although I love Mr. Jackson's work, I don't think he's the right guy for a zombie flick.
Now, if you'd like my humble opinion for a black actor (and a real African) who would rule in a zombie movie, look no further than Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, the man who plays Mr. Eko on the TV show "Lost" and who also played Simon Adebisi on the HBO series "Oz".
I think his body of work, his features, and his accent all work in his favor.

I agree.
Stick Samuel L. in one of the cheap knock offs, or a new-style homage flick, but stick to no-names, or awesome, but under-used (under-known in the main stream) character actors in any future GAR zombie movies (not that there'll be one, though i can hope).

That is so awesome! There was also a Resident Evil graphic novel comic magazine released a few years back that had Barry, Chris and Jill on a place to Europe and guess what? A plane full of zombies!

Man, either everyone lacks a sense of humor, or ya'll have no sense of fun.
You don't think SLJ would kick ass in a zombie movie with a shotgun, running through a mall, screaming 'die motherfvcker!' while blowing off zombie heads the whole time wouldn't be entertaining? C'mon! It'd be more entertaing than BLAND (yeah, I said it, so what? wanna fight about it?)
...and why would it be so horrible that GAR used a known actor in the next Dead film (if there is one)?

Samuel is the man as far as I'm concerned. I watched some behind the scenes and how we made the movie stuff with sam and all I can say is even then he had such a stage presence it gave me chills of delight. That man can pull off any role and make any movie look good. There are very few actors of his calibur left in hollywood.
ONe of my most favorite actors mixed with zombie a flick? Hell, yes! Some one call Mr. Romero right now! :D
PLEASE?

The GAR films are well known for thier dialogue, and who better to deliver more classic lines to Romero's franchise? I vote cast Sam L! :D
In Night, honestly, the real star was the news reporter commenting on the situation while Ben overheard while working on the house. Those lines are sampled from everything from music to other genre films.
Dawn, Peter was given the best stuff to work with and Ken Foree nailed it!
"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth"----Classic.
Captain Rhodes, lol, call it over the top or not, no one can ever do a better job than Joe Pilato. That whole Monkey farm bit was just too good.
Even though Land of the Dead didn't really have any standout's, there is plenty of memorable stuff to go around. From Charlie's opening lines to Cholo's "God left the phone off the hook" bit, to Dennis Hopper just doing what he does best and making each word spoken that much better than it was on paper.
It's time for another hero with charisma, and let's face it, it's not Romero's first movie, he's made classic's, he's told the stories he wanted to tell, let's forget the unknown star formula for one movie and just have fun with possibly his last Dead movie ever written.
There will never be another Dawn or Day of the Dead, but there can always be a kickass Sam jackson trying to survive the undead roaming the world while being a smartass about it. I'm sold.

One of my favorite SLJ movies is still The Great White Hype. Sultan would be a good character to have in the streets of Land with the unwashed masses and other riff raff :elol: Well, he would have been.
