I'm drawing a blank. Are there any sci-fi zombie movies, or zombie movies set in the future?

I could have sworn there was one made in the early 80's, but I can't remember the title.

Anyone??

The only one that comes to mind is Lifeforce. Sort of zombies, sort of "space-vampires."

Creature (1985) starring Klaus Kinski. Bad B movie Alien ripoff with the added bonus that dead crewmen are revived as zombies. Not much plot but plenty of gore. Rumor is the copyright wasn't renewed so the movie rights fell into the public domain a few years ago.

Planet of the Vampires
aka Terrore nello spazio (1965)

Don't be fooled by the title, there are definately zombies in this Italian movie directed by Mario Bava. It's a good one. Note how much Ridley Scott borrowed from this movie when he made Alien in 1980.

How is that? They changed the copyright law in the '70s or so, so regardless, it should still be copyrighted by someone.

The way it is now, it is the life of the creator, plus 50 years after death. Then I believe the people who inherit it or whatever, can renew it indefinitely. (But then I heard about it falling into the public domain after 50 or 75 plus years, so who knows. Someone to find out for sure I guess!)

Oh they don't?

Alien comes to mind... That movie scared the **** out of me the first time I watched it. I'd also call it science-fiction.

Lifeforce is an awesome movie. It's probably the closest you'll get to a zombie sci-fi movie. Hey wait a minute, wasn't Astro Zombies a sci-fi flick?

The Astro-Zombies (1968) or Space Zombie Bingo (1993) COULD technically be considered scifi zombie movies, but I wouldn't recommend either one.

I thought the same thing when I saw Planet of the Vampires a few months ago. That is a really cool movie, alittle cheezey but still pretty awesome.

It may not be a movie (yet) but Halo has Scifi and Zombies (the Flood). As well as Half-Life, those headcrabs are kinda "zombie-aliens".

Come to think of it, Plan 9 from Outer Space, as silly as it was, is a sci-fi zombie film!

has anyone else ever read the novel that lifeforce is based on? it is called "space vampires" by colin wilson and has some serious lovecraft overtones to it.

worth a look for anyone who liked the movie.

I think sci fi horror can work quite well if done right, just my opinion of course.

As a big fan of the Twilight Zone, I'd have to agree.

BTW Lifeforce rocked love naked vampire zombie chicks. One movie comes to mind it is Mars something or other with Ice cube. It came out in the late 90s.
