Ya know this maybe the only bond film I will go see in theaters. This looks pretty badass.

I think the only thing that interests me about this new bond film is the fact that Chris Cornell is doing the title track. Other than that, they lost me with the bond flicks once they hired Timothy "I'm way too serious to be Bond" Dalton.

Yes, I saw a one or two of the Brosnan bond flicks, and I didn't care for those either - even though I thought picking him as bond would be an awesome choice. I was wrong. He was better as remmington steele.

I agree with you if you're talking about Brosnan's last.....3 flicks?(he did four total, I believe). But "Goldeneye"......"Goldeneye" freaking rocked. That's the one that brought the series back after Dalton's films sent them to the bottom.

But then Brosnan's films got worse and worse(I have still yet to see "Die Another Die").....so hopefully "Casino" is going to redeem the Bond films. Take it back to it's roots. I'm surprised it's taken them this long to make "Casino"....

I couldn't agree more with this statement. It's almost a crime, the way Brosnan--who was a great bond--always got saddled with horrible scripts after Goldeneye. have to update and get that on DVD, I damn near burned out my old VHS back in the day.

I heve never watched it. Is it really that good?

The last Bond Movie I watched had to be Octopussy.

Yeah, dude....it's that good. To me, it's my second favorite in the entire series. "Goldfinger" is my number one.

It's also directed by the same guy that's directing "Casino Royale"(Martin Campbell).....so it should help give you an idea as to how bad-a** "Casino" will be.

Seems like this guy is MGM keeps calling to resurrect the Bond series after it sinks.:rockbrow:

Well Martin did The Mask of Zorro and I loved that film. I didn't care much for the sequel, but was still a decent Zorro film none the less.

I'm looking forward to this, it's lookin' badass as you say, should hopefully bring the franchise back on track after the rather ropey, plastic affair that was Die Another Day (and that gawd-awful title track by Madonna, oh dear ... and her performance too, oh geez)...

Plus, CR has a DB9 in it, oh yes! Shame they wreck it though...

Is a DB9 the same Astin Martin that was used in "Goldfinger" and part of "Goldeneye"? I hope so.....that car is friggin sweet.

lol, it would be quite interesting if the DB9 was in Goldfinger , nah, that was the Aston Martin DB5 (there was a DB6, a DB7 and then came ... *choir of angels sings* the DB9).

As for Goldeneye, I don't recall an Aston Martin in it, but ain't seen it in quite some time, there was a BMW Z3 (I think, possibly a Z4, but I think Z3). In Die Another Day they had the Aston Martin Vanquish, which is a tasty piece of ass. The DB9 is basically an incredible vehicle of epic proportions.

Aston Martin also recently released the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, which is kinda like a baby version of the Vanquish.

But if you've got £100,000 floating around and you can afford the premiums, nab yourself a DB9 and you'll never be in un-soiled underwear again.

Nah....the Astin Martin is definitely in "Goldeneye". It's near the beginning, right after the opening credit sequence. He's driving through the hills with a woman inspector and Xenia Onatopp comes flying up beside them in her Ferrari and they start racing. It's definitely an Astin Martin. I don't know what model, though.

Later, Q introduces him to his new BMW Z3 Roadster.(I believe that's the name).

Poor Q.....I'm gonna miss him. I wonder if he'll be replaced in later films. I heard his character isn't in "Casino Royale". I just hope they don't continue using John Cleese as "R". I love the guy's work.....but he's no Q.

Hmmm, indeed then I did forget about the AM in Goldeneye, the Z3 was the "star" car though, sales certainly shot up after that film and I've seen many of them around, likewise with the Z4 ... don't know why, they look like ass and they're BMW's *sigh* ... ghey. Gimme a DB9 any day of the week.

Aye, Cleese isn't exactly a "Q" is he? I didn't think he was that bad, just a bit of a change, but well ... Casino Royale goes right back so indeed there is no "Q" and there is also no Money Penny.

lol, that reminds me about something I watched the other day, I think it might have been on Extras (s02e01) and there was a pervy joke involving Money Penny - no wait - it was the programme on after (sketch show - Mitchell & somethingeruther - the guys who made Peep Show) with two gay blokes talking about a dinner party which James Bond was invited to, and that's where the pervy joke was ... it was quite funny. :D
