Oh, and in case you were wondering what the place once was: it was the most well-known diaper company in the nation, at one point; Dy-Dee Diapers.

*b'ave, just noticed this "similar threads" feature...weird*
Some great pictures there Mike, cool stuff. I'd be too creeped out to go in somewhere like that for long, I'd be thinking of that game "Condemned" too much ... or just fearing rabid hobos or some shiite.
Blimey, you American chaps sure leave a lot of abandoned buildings lying around, eh? hehe, we don't really have abandoned places in the UK, too damn small to have ghost towns and abandoned zones I guess...

Hell no. I'll never go in any places alone. Not because it's scary or whatever but because it's dangerous. This place, for instance, has many areas me and my buddy didn't dare access because there were gigantic holes in the floors from age. You never know when you could fall through a floor, stairs, roof or even have **** fall on you. Always good to have someone with you.

Thanks. Abandoned facilities are starting to become a rarity in my part of the nation. So many damn developers ruining history and wildlife. It pisses me off.

In a diaper factory I'd have thought that was a given , sorry, couldn't resist.

Actually, I've been exploring places like this for about 7 years and have only bumped into other people one time and they, surprisingly, turned out to be people I had talked to through e-mail a couple of times.
It's really rare to find people squatting in these places unless, of course, you're going into an abandoned building in a ghetto or middle of a city, then it's more than likely, but I stay away from those. Don't feel like being robbed by a crackhead.
This isn't to say people don't squat in them... it's just rare that they'll stick around for you to find them. I can count numerous times when we'd find a nice little set up for someone to sleep at but they wouldn't be there, only to hear noises far off in the building, which we safely presumed them trying to get away from us.
But before all of the nonsense about inhabitants remember the worse thing of all when exploring places like this..... POLICE. Trespassing is an offense; you will be citated. I've had friends that were actually thrown in a cell for a night because the cops felt like being dicks. So it's better off that you stay away.
