So that dooshe from the Yankees crashes his plane into a building, cause above all else he's a moron. So now the news pushes a "reminding us all of 9/11" angle.

disgusting

Well...the guy may have been a DOUCHE, but I'm sure the burning building, debris, and smoke was somewhat of a flashback for New Yorkers.

The media may have blown it up a bit, but when do they not? It's safe to say that 9/11 was the first thing to go through people's minds when they saw this.

But the media does have a responsibility not to attach this with 9/11, One being a disgusting lack of respect for life the other being a dumbass that shouldnt have had a license. The two dont compare.

I love how you guys jump to conclusions and point fingers when there has been no official word as to what caused the crash.

they do that all the time "not since 9/11" and such they do it the same over hear with the london bomb incident.
but its the news so they have to sound dramatic but compareing ways any people die is just plain wrong.

Honestly I'm surprised the media doesn't use their airtime to repeat the phrase "9/11" 24/7.

Yeah...planes crashing into buildings...where's the similarity between these two events?!

Honestly, most of the media I heard made the comparison, but it was geared towards difussing peoples' automatic assumptions. In my opinion, that was responsible journalism, and not hype.

While I'm not a big fan of media in general, I think alot of people are too quick to point the finger at it these days. Yes, most major accidents, disasters, and tragedies are reported as: "unknown whether they are linked to terrorism or not". But, quite frankly, that is the state of paranoia most Americans seem to live in these days. The media didn't inspire that, the government did.

but on Long Island which is not far from New York City, the first thing I thought of when I turned on the television and saw the words "Plane hits building" on the screen was "Oh no another 9/11" and that it was actually 10/11 which I thought was eerie.

I agree that the media does take it too far but it is hard not to think of the attack and wonder when ANOTHER plane hits a New York building.

I was thankful that my partners Mother and Brother who live in the city were not there at the time because they are on a African Safari.

But then I found out later that night that my oldest sister and her husband WERE in the city. They were nowhere near the building but I got bad news anyway because she was in the city finding out at the hospital that she may have lung cancer and needs to be operated on this coming Monday.

So that sucks for me especially since I will be leaving for a two week trip to San Diego and a Mexican cruise on Wednesday!!!
