Ok, I just got back from the theater and I'd rate it a ***/****
The movie was good, but the editing at the start wasn't that great and it tried too much to jump around like the book at parts. I've read the book twice in the last year and half and to me the movie just didn't move me like the book. Clint Eastwood's direction was good and Adam Beach really nailed the part of Ira Hayes (to me he was the only good thing about Windtalkers), and the rest of the cast was good as well. Although I didn't get to see as much of Iwo Jima as I wanted to, I get wait for Red Sun, Black Sand or whatever they changed the title to. I think if I saw it at my other theater with a digital projector I think it would have looked a little better.
My final recommendation, go see it. Clint Eastwood's the man.
