Question about Argento's version

I'm hedging on whether to purchase the Euro DOTD. My incentive is it includes a cast commentary from the 4 main actors. Is it fun to listen to? Are they in the same room together watching the film. Do they add good incites into their experience making the film? I'd like to know this before I shell out $19.99. I've seen it before, just not with commentary.

I would have to say that their commentary was the least entertaining of the commentaries on the Ultimate Edition. I dont think that they know much of the details behind the film, and I wouldnt be surprised if they havent even ever watched the movie. They seemed totally oblivious to the fact that they were doing the EURO version, and were surprised when certain scenes they remembered werent there.

Definatley get the Ultimate Edition. I have never seen a EURo only edition with those 4 doing commentary. If it were an official release, I would probably get it for collector value, but if it were just an illegal copy, I wouldnt bother, get the Ultimate Edition.

It all depends if you want to shell out the 20 bucks for a solo copy or 30 bucks for the complete four disc box set. I have seen the solo Euro version on sale and it is EXACTLY the same as the one on the Ultimate Edition. I know what I'd do if I was in your shoes. If it's a decent commentary you are after then I suggest you track down the UK extended version on dvd. It has a kick ass commentary by Tom Savini and Chris Stravrakis and I regard it as the best Dawn commentary ever! If you have an e-bay account check it out, I have seen it on there for pennies.
