I'm lucky enough to get handed a lot of documentaries that don't make it into general circulation, or take a few years to find distribution.
One such doc is Cesky Sen (Czech Dream) which is a hue hoax about the opening of a new hypermarket in Prague.

In the final scenes, when the hypermarket is due to open and people of all ages are running, walking and staggering towards the building...guess which film springs to mind?
I have never seen anything in my life that so resembles fiction as this, possibly because it's such a surreal scene.
If you can get hold of the documentary, i seriously recommend it. If nothing else, it's a damn good social experiement and hoax.
Edit: just found this: http://www.channel4.com/more4/documentaries/doc-feature.jsp?id=61
