Is the Wii able to connect to the internet yet? How about download games? If so, anybody do this? If not, know when it's going to happen? Hopefully Nintendo isn't making empty promises.

Right now, the Opera browser and the online multiplayer option is not available. However, you can download old games on virtual console.

Battalian Wars II will be the first online title for the Wii, I believe.

Hope that helps.

So has anybody downloaded any of the virtual console titles? How big of a selection do they have right now? How do the games look/play?

Last I checked the selection wasn't too big. But they just launched the console so that's forgiveable. There are a dozen or so NES games such as Donkey Kong & DK Jr and, Legend of Zelda. SNES has SimCity. Genesis has a small handfull such as Sonic the Hedgehog. Turbo Graphix 16 has Bonk's Adventure. I haven't downloaded any games, but they are direct ports of past consoles and look the same as they did back in the day.

The first thing I'm doing when I get a Wii is downloading Super Mario 64!!!

I found a page on Wikipedia that has a list of all the virtual console games in North America. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtual_Console_titles_%28North_America%29
