Even though its all CG, it gives us a look at a new "weapon": the shield grenade.

most wanted game of 2007?:D

thing is though even though this is like, waht?, a day after halo 2 the grunts, hunters and elites are on your side now so you cant just be fighting the flood and the brutes, what new enemys do you reckon?.

im guessing for a level were you have to take out multiple scarabs or something.

plus tartarus got killed so only grave mind and the prophet of...whatever is left....

Damn straight. If $ony think they have taken a battering already, just wait until this bohemoth comes out. I'll shift 360's by the s**tload.

How good were the graphics?

Wow!!! The sand looked amazing when it was shooting up into the sky. The clouds looked great, too. This will be incredible.

You goof ball...:)...you cant say anything about how it looked.... It was a CGI movie...They couldve played that same movie on the original Xbox or PS2....Microsoft themselves said the whole thing was just a CGI movie

I saw the commercial during ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast. I was kind of taken with the beginning with the 2 kids looking up in the sky & wondering "what if's" & then it goes to the Master Chief. Very cool IMHO . I would gather that one of those kids was a young Master Chief.

For those with Xbox Live & didn't know already, you can go to the marketplace & download the commercial :D.

yeah i heard on the bungie forums that its master chief adn that female one who we last saw in the books and dead or alive, i think it was a shell shock induced flashback, very cool, makes him a little more human and less like just a cliche voice, i heard he was albino though.

I know it was CGI and I don't think they could have made it look that good on original XBOX. Especially not mine. I have the first gen model of XBOX, which is a royal piece of junk and would never produce the graphics as good as that (if it even read a game with graphics like that).

If it could play a DVD then it could play graphics as good as that...Its a CGI movie...its not like the movie was generated using the game engine... so if your Xbox could play a DVD (which they all could) than it could show that movie...CGI movies arent "graphics"...eheh

I guess the little girl could be the Spartan sniper that was a main character in one of the books..

If I remember correctly, the Master Chief isn't an albino but he & the rest of the Spartans have the apperance of albinos just because of all the time they've spent wearing their armor. I could be mistaken with that though :).

Here's a tasty little tidbit from Bungee.

Bungie Weekly Update
12/15/2006

This week got a little mental, when some of our friends in Belgium "revealed" that a documentary feature would be on Xbox Live Marketplace next week, and "reveal" that the Brutes were playable characters in Halo 3. Well, they're not playable characters.

The fact is, Brutes in Halo 3 will be significantly more exciting, clever, graphically impressive, terrifying, numerous and angrier than in Halo 2, but they won't be playable, especially since you, in the role of Master Chief, will be spending a significant amount of effort and ammunition reducing their population.

The documentary mentioned on the interwebs, does indeed exist, as I have mentioned before in previous updates. We're keeping the exact contents as a kind of holiday surprise for the faithful, and you'll be able to see the entire thing in 720p and surround sound some time next week. It's a very interesting piece. especially if you're interested in Campaign mode.

And if you don't have an Xbox 360, don't panic. We love you, and we're going to ensure that everyone gets to see it next week. Just know that the 360 version will have the best resolution for pausing, staring at something and saying, "Is that what I think it is!?"

Anyway, sorry I can't tell you more about that today, but then, that IS the point of a surprise, right? Even if those chocolate-munching, Tin-Tin reading, waffle-snarfing Belgians are just too excited to keep a lid on it.

Peace out!

More official news and the first in-game clips coming from Bungee in a few days. Rock on!

I read in the latest issue of GameInformer that a two level playable demo will be available for download sometime in Q1 of '07.

GameInformer also mentioned something about a Halo RTS too, and a spin-off series with Peter Jackson at the helm.
