This list is kind of a crock. The Godfather at number 10? Yeah right. The site says:

Also factored in were the franchises' commercial and artistic successes, as well as their impact on pop culture
Artistic sucess...two Oscars for best film anyone? And what movies have had more or an impact on pop culture than The Godfather series? They were all financially successful too. I bet they end of with Lord of the Rings as number one.

Also, some of the pics they use in the GAR article are of Dawn04. Way to go IGN.

What a bunch of idiots. Where is RAMBO? He's the king of all the action/adventure movies. The franchise was one of the biggest and most profitable ones.

'RAMBO IV: Pearl of the Cobra' is the next step!

Actually, Stallone is in the process of getting a fourth Rambo rolling. After "First Blood" I totally lost interest in the series. "Rambo III" was horrible. Ugh, I get a bad feeling just thinking about it.

What was funny about that was Rambo was supposed to be fighting Soviets on the side of Afghanatan. ironic, yes, and also the Soviets pulled out of Afghanastan just before the Film got released.
For me, those films are pretty bad and massivley overrated.

'RAMBO III' was the greatest action movie of all the times.

RAMBO is a legend, the ultimate icon.

And americans were clearly against Soviets in Afghanistan, back in the '80ies, so nothing wrong with the movie. No mean to be offensive, but was BIN LADEN working for YOUR COUNTRY back in the day?

Dude....for the 900th time, excessively large font is not needed.

John Rambo was an icon in the original "First Blood". After that they switched it to "Rambo"(for some stupid arse reason), put him in actual wars rather than an internal war, and he became "The Terminator"(which is strange because James Cameron actually co-wrote "Rambo II" with Stallone). John Rambo wasn't real anymore....he was superhuman. Not a believable veteran like the first film.

We're off-topic.

You don't like the sequels. It doesn't matter. They were smash-hits. Bye bye.

I'm surprised that Romero's flicks got on the list at all. Especially in 20th place.

Don't be a obnoxious. Look that up when you look up IRONY.
And I shrank your quote to the smallest size because thats what it deserved.
And the movie was lame.
Rambo can go 69 with Riley in hell:D

Yeah, smash hits. Rambo 3 wasn;t a hit. And $$$ doesn't mean quality anyway.
Why are you being a dink over a series like Rambo?
Jesuuuuuuus Christmas!

anyway,
they called the second one Rambo because noone called First blood by the title, they called it Rambo at the time.

lol alive man, ok, rambo 3 is a superb film, a masterpiece

saw? harry potter? nah mate.

i'd say star wars is more influential than the godfather. and i reckon LOTR has a place, it was nearly 6 years ago and the crappy fantasy movies (eragon/pans labrynth) and sword & sandal movies are still coming, i reckon as a result of its success.

Of course, the article is a crock. It's from IGN. That should be your first clue. IGN is notorious for getting things wrong.
