looks cool but not very practical. movement would be difficult in a suit like that.

It's a lot lighter than the Landwarrior system (92lb combat load) the US Army is currently evaluating. Main problem is class III body armor only stops handgun rounds and shrapnel, without ceramic plates a round from the AK47 will go right through. Think these kinds of armor will become more popular when advanced materials become available in the near future. A version made out of carbon fiber with spider silk resin armor reinforcement for example.

Spoken like a true professional. That kind of talk is wasted on a simpleton like me but it's impressive nonetheless. :D

I recall seeing a post about this earlier, that's crazy that he's just selling it off like this. If I had that kind of money and I would hella get that, you can't even say that that thing doesn't look badass...

It's at 25 grand and the reserve STILL isn't met. Wow, I wonder how high he set that for.

Anyway, that thing looks like the main character from Bungie's old Marathon series.

This is interesting , I remember something called "No Man Down" a few years back , but this goes all the way . A hoard of say , 50 stenches trying to eat you , might find a weakness and end you . They could still rip your arm off ,or dis-locate , if theres enough of them pulling at you . However , if you can get head shots and evade the grasp of them , it would be good (psychological) reassurance to have that equipment . Keeping the starving undead at shooters length is always the best ' armor ' . (I like the helmet) . But if you have to wear a diaper , it would be worth it if it saves you from being bitten . I would rather lay a steak in my underdrawers than end up like Flyboy or Cholo ...

He's selling it because he sank literally every penny he had into it, and it sank like a stone. Guy even hawked his wedding ring to pay for the gas to get to where he demonstrated it.

Dude is the same one who invented the bear proof suit awhile back, which he also sold because no one was intrested in mass producing it. Guy dared big and fell big too. Probably should have looked at how defense contracts actually get awarded. I'm certain the days of a guy just walking in off the street with an idea that gets adapted are way behind us.

The story is now he and his wife and kid are facing eviction because they can't pay the rent.

That's some genuine super hero sh1it right there ... though i can't say i am tempted by either the thirty grand PLUS price tag or the idea of having to wear a diaper to house my genuine super hero sh1it along with it

*Though i do like the "left and right hip magnetic holster system for twin 9 mm handguns".
