Also, Rumor has it that the budget for Grindhouse ballooned to $100,000,00.00, Personally i don't care if it is 600 million I want to see this film, just for PLANET TERROR.

Also there is talks of the films being split do to the nearly four running time.

I think I'm a litle more excited about Tarantino's segment simply because it has Kurt Russell(I mean Escape from New York, Big Trouble in Little China kickass Kurt Russell, not Sky High Kurt Russell). But I think both parts of the movie are going to kick ass. And they better not split them up!

Well thats what I heard but the trailer itself said "two and a half hours of action", WTF?

Each film is only 70 minutes long. That leaves 10-15 minutes for the fake trailers in between movies.

Yeah, that's what I thought, each movie would be about 70 minutes long (as I'd originally read online) as that was the length for grindhouse exploitation style films, so with two films of that length with trailers/shorts squeezed in between/before then you've got yourself 3 hours of entertainment (which was generally the case back in the day it seems), but for this actual film, 2.5 hours makes more sense...:rockbrow:

Loading the trailer now, I haven't seen it (obviously) but I already know it's gonna be awesome - just because.

Anyone spot Bruce Willis? :D

I love the fact that they destroy the drive in sign with the movies Scary Movie 4 and Wolf Creek displayed on it. That was funny.

Damn straight, I watched the trailer and it was freakin' sweet as. We need more sleaze in our cinema, and this will give us a spade full of it! :elol:

If they wanted to do this right they should make this NC-17, but with that rating there is downfalls, like unable to advertise in some newspapers.

I am all for tons and tons of Sleaze in Cinema's, but the only thing this film will lack, IMHO, is the true grindhouse feel. The budget is too big and the cinematography doesn't suck. That was the key to good Grindhouse films.

Indeed, you've hit the nail on the head there Dj, with such a large budget the gritty feel of Grindhouse has been "bought" and digitally created. Real Grindhouse had poor equipment, crap actors, dodgy reels and dodgy camerawork, but I guess in this day and age you can't really take a step back cinematically as it wouldn't 'fair well' with critics/the audience.

However, a while back (before I heard about Grindhouse) I was putting together ideas to make my own sleazy Euro-Zombi style zombie short film. I went through "Oasis of the Zombies" and dissected it into the key stylistic elements. I never got around to doing it though, maybe someday I'll get around to doing it, but the idea was to actually make it look like those movies, crap camerawork, too many zooms (which fluctuate in frequency BIG STYLE) and - the big one - leering with the camera at ladie's bits.

Actually ... I really wanna film that now, haha!

So film it... You got the DVX100B and with SONY VEGAS, which BTW you need to start using, you can easily make some nice trashy zombie films.

I like Grindhouse cinema, but I know I could never do it personally. One thing I will say in all of the shown footage for Grind House the movie, the Danny trejo trailer for Machete was the closest I have seen Grindhouse look like real grindhouse type cinema, however, I am jumping to a conclusion without watching the film, but I dunno if they will hit the nail on the head or not, but I really don't give a f*ck. the simple fact it is a Tarantino Rodriguez double feature is enough for me to lay out my $10.00 for a ticket.

Exactly, irrespective of whether they've hit all the nails holding down the Grindhouse fort, they'll have hit several of them, and that's good enough. It certainly looks like it's gonna be one of the best flicks of 2007, something to really get excited about ... I was reading something about "From Dusk Till Dawn" being a kind of Grindhouse style/inspired by sort of film, being that it's essentially two movies split down the middle - you've got criminal road movie for the first half and then vampire horror (with LOTS of TITS and LOTS of GORE) for the second half ... interesting...

Dj my man, when I find myself in the circumstances to allow me to make my sleazy, trashy Euro-Zombi throwback flick, I will, cos the idea is just too good to sit on forever. :p

NC-17 is the ONLY way to release this thing.I Know it will be cut up for the theatrical release but i am looking forward to the unrated DVD edition.

Aye, I'd expect cuts too, but it's always the way, the MPAA are far too stuck up. I'll most definitely be pre-ordering the unrated full on DVD when it becomes available. Hey, maybe they'll do like they did with Sin City - because apparently Tarantino's does the "missing reel" thing, perhaps that missing reel will be able to be 'put back in' on a special edition DVD? That's be sweet.

The trampoline scene sounds rather nice. :p;):)
