Anybody see Todd Browning's Freaks? I saw this movie a long time ago and I thought it was totally creepy. It was made in 1932 and a lot of people took offense because of it's portrayal of some of the real life 'freaks' in the movie (dwarves, siamese twins etc). I never forgot Prince Randion (Slugman) - he had no arms or legs and as a kid I used to have nightmares about him crawling up the stairs after me! Anyone see it? If not then watch it right here (http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=6355110065089064433&q=genre%3AHORROR).

I saw the movie years ago and thought it was funny. I don't see what people's problem was about that movie back in the day.

i guess it was OK with them as long as they were in the freakshow instead of presented as real people. Wierd consdiering people went to freakshows then all the time, unlike now. The ending was pretty rough however
I think the film is great.
The extras on the DVD are a must view if you like the film. All kinds of great background on all the actors.

Guess it's like seeing Halloween for the first time today. Back in 78-79 it scared the **** outta people, today it's "what's the big deal?" People in the 30s weren't quite acclimatized to cinema horror.

Yeah, I recently caught Freaks on Turner Classic Movies and its really a brilliant film. Its is creepy. Not in a stu[pid "Boo!" kind of way, but in a "Damn these people are making my skin crawl" Kind of way.

Virgin seem to be better with their prices but HMV are far better when it comes to ordering rare stuff and that. The 2 disc special edition of Devils Rejects is in HMV for a score but in Virgin it's like 6 or 7 quid.

That wiki write up hasn't exactly encouraged me to go investigate it.

It helps if you are high. The movie had its moments and Quaid cracked me up.
