And no, I don't agree. How could you not be excited for Halo 3? It will be, at the very least, an incredible multiplayer game. I like how people are so quick to write off a game because its "been too long". What did you want them to do, release it on the original Xbox? Games take time to develop. Microsoft and Bungie aren't going to ship a bad/incomplete game. They know the system wars could be decided with Halo 3. Also, how can you compare Halo 2 to Gears of War?

A.) They were released years apart, so its only natural the latest and greatest improved upon what others had started.
B.) One is a FPS, the other is a 3rd person action game. Apples and oranges.
C.) They were released on 2 very different systems. Of course Gears is a better game, it was built from the ground up for Xbox 360.

The fact that so many people are still playing Halo 2 two and a half years after its release is quite a statement in itself.

The Halo 3 multiplayer beta is nearly upon us, and I for one, can't wait for it. And don't say you wont get Halo 3, because you know you will.

nope im not buying halo 3, hence the whole big "woah" around it, ive got game sliek ocarina of time, vice city, metal gear ect. that i play on and off constantly replaying it well forever. yet im sick to my backteeth of the halo games and i cant bring myself to play em anymore, and its never happened before. i think its how they have kept schtum on it but seem like there doing us a big favour when they do release yet another small video taht show no gameplay so im done, danny smith is officially done with halo *mimmicks brushing hands*

So you aren't interested in it because they aren't showing you any gameplay videos? Isn't the multiplayer beta enough? Those of us who were lucky enough to be invited are going to get weeks of online gameplay months before the game is released. There will be plenty of media within a month or two. I guarantee you'll crack and buy it, you know you wanna frag with the rest of us :D

Quite a broad generalization, no? Yeah, there are douchebags on Live. For the most part though, you'll find playing matches with good people far outweigh any negative aspects of the Live experience. Even if you dont play vs, there is still co-op to be played. If the last two games are any indication, it should be a damn fun time. With Live you don't have to play splitscreen either. There is a reason people don't play Goldeneye anymore. Damn screen watchers...

dude dont bother trying to sell live to me, i waited years to get it, finally did for 2 free months, and it was horrible. The friends system is rarely, if ever used, most people dont talk, so the headest's useles, and the people that do are usually nutters. and the downloads off live ,other than patches are not worth the trouble.

I'm not trying to sell Live to you, how can I? Its not even your Xbox 360, its your brothers. I have to disagree with most downloads not being with the trouble. The Arcade is great when there is a lull in between game releases.
You like Gears of War so much, did you happen to download the 2 free maps? I'd say thats worth the trouble of a few button clicks. I could see Live losing some of its appeal if none of your other friends owned one, but isn't that a part of the fun of going online? Meeting new people to add to your list is the only way to make it grow.

thats the trouble though isnt it, different timezones and that means you wont be on when most of your friendslist is, and the american marketplace is an incredible amount better than the english one lemme tell ya, on the latest releases last month we still had the frekain' pirates 2 trailer:rolleyes:
its got maybe 20% of the stuff the american marketplace has, lots of sites say "such and such free gamerpics" and ill go on and they wouldnt be there, sucks huh?

-oh and my brother recently got a 360 ive had one for a year now, we just used halo to test out multiplayer xbox games on a 360 since we only now had two controllers.

Yeah that does suck, MS needs to get on the ball with brining Live up to speed in other countries besides the good ol USA.
And thats cool about the other Xbox, you should try system link when you get the chance.

yeah ,might give it a go, he got lost planet and enchanted arms, i dont know why but lost planet and gears seem a little similar to me, and nto jsut cus there both 3rd person shooters.

I'm with CoinReturn. I think XBOX Live is great for many reasons. The main one being: playing with your friends and not having to worry about them staring at your portion of the screen to figure out where you are (as tons of people do in splitscreen multi).

More often then not I have a real good experience playing online with people. Way more so on 360 than I did on XBOX. People actually work as a team and get along instead of fighting with each other the entire time.

You can still pop in Halo 2 and jump right into a game filled with people without having to wait. I think that says something!

The onlything I thought was fun about Halo 1 was the Coop ....set the difficultly to really hard in storymode and you and a buddy in the same room playing the same game helping each other out...

Halo 2 the levels were just wayy to repetitive....It was like for each stage they only designed 4 cubes of map...and then they just linked copys of these four cubes together over and over again...

well....not really, case in point the library level, you cant get to much more cut and paste than that, 'cept maybe the levels on the pillar of autumn, halo 2 was much less cut and paste than halo 1.

I felt the story was a lot better and more coherent in the first one. Halo 2's map design was as equally tedious I thought. Also, to be able to shoot 2 Plasma Rifles is as good as cheating in my eyes.

the first one didnt really have much more than a cliche' fps sotry endign with the obligatory escaping form an explosion, i think i read that since its realese was near 9/11 they were told to majorly tone down all the covenant religous stuff and jsut make em generic sci-fi enemies instead, but in halo 2 the sorta reintroduced the covenants religous zealot sotryline.

Still, if the graphics look half as good as they do in the screenshots then Halo 3 will totally dominate. I predict a serious Live overload on release day. :D

yeah well since halo 2 was out in 04' and now its 07' i think its a little too long for an fps game, oblivion i can understand, though that came out last year my 360 cash i going on alan wake, as ive said before many many times, fps wise ill take bioshock over halo 3, as i dont see how much they add to halo 3 since it takes place like, what?, a few minutes after the end of halo 2? i mean how many advances and new weapons could be created in that time?:rolleyes:

uh, yeah, most of the time they do. they take into account the time factor, and the idea that new and more advanced weapons and vehicles would suddenly popup is one thing but bungie are once again changing the enemys so now the brutes are in a tribe hirearchy with new uniforms and a different backstory, tweaking things is one ...err thing, but this is heading down that geroge lucas, head up there own ass route, next up masterchief will be on about his midichlorian count:barf:
