yes your not reading my review wrong after all my bitching about how "its not zombies so its not resident evil", im doing a 180 after finally picking it up to say i really enjoyed it, though as it says in my review does anyone else feel it was better at the start than late ron?

I played this game when it first come out for the Gamecube so it's hard for me to remember everything about it. I enjoyed the game though but it ain't half the joy that Resident Evil 2 was.

same here man, i even said that in the review resi 2 was THE best zombie game to date i think, the settings from the america-meets japan city to the racoon city police department you never get bored in resident evil 2, easily one of the best ps-one games ever.

RE1 was great but it soon got bleak and tedious and I hated the Hunters when playing Chris. RE2 got the balance perfect. The in game music when you're running around the police station is still as atmospheric now as it was back in 98.

plus the soundtrack was top notch as well, though not as good as silent hill 2 mind you:sneaky:

RE4 is unquestionably the greatest RE game ever made (to date). I made the unfortunate mistake of buying RE0 and playing it after RE4. I stopped playing RE0 after a day or two because I had become accostumed to RE4's superior gameplay, more specifically, kicking through doors, no loading time on doors, NO STAIRS GRAFICS, aiming, I'm sure there's more. Amazing game all around, and even the little side missions were fun. I was a RE mark before RE4, but now I'm sold for life.

Before I played RE4, I would have said it was a toss up between RE2 and Veronica. Hellsing, go back and play those old sluggish games before you declare RE2 the champ. No aiming sucks.

Oh, and the soundtrack... Nueve... Nueve... Nueve.. :)

if you like resi 4 then youll definatly wanna check out cold fear, set on an abandoned whaling ship full of fast zombies that can lterally burst out of the floorboards radnomly, you can never clear an area of them for good and to kill them you have to take them down then kill the parasite in there heads, though it came out a little while before resi 4, and you can move whilst aiming, with great weather effects and the constant surging of the ship in the high seas i can really recommend it.

Wait up now, Cold Fear sucked grampaws big ball bags. I mean, I wanted to play the game but the crapolio handling and sheer boat-like motion sickness prevented me from doing so. One or two good moments in an 8 hour game but absolute dog knot rotten in terms of actual gameplay. Go into any GameStation - they'll tell ya, 10 billion second hand copies instore. :dead:

I remember reading the review for that, apparently theres only one or two zombie models in the game,so its wave after wave of clones  and how many zombies would you really get on a whaling ship realistically (if indeed zombies were real),15-20 at the most?it sounds like you fight hundreds on there!

theres more enemies than zombies ,a fair few areas in the game involve you fighting humans too, i loved taht game the atmosphere of being on the deck of a heavily swaying boat in a sotrm, lighting flashing ,rain coming down and you see from a balcony a group of soldiers fighting off a random group of the exocel infected zombies, then one notices you and they ehad up the stairs as well....
its a great game for how much it costs now and i can really recommend it.

I definitely liked the idea of it and some of the moments on the upper deck were okay but it's by no means gaming gold. I'm pretty die hard when it comes to survival horrors but even I had to turn this off at the 2 hour mark - it just wasn't interesting enough for me. Thing is with the upper deck, it's supposed to emulate a choppy boatride and the game actually makes you seasick. The screen goes up and down and up and down and I found myself looking away from the TV most of the time. Don't even get me started on the handling and aiming system.

you wont be dissapointed, the aiming is basically reis 4s aiming, but you can move with the left thumbstick in aiming mode, so i spent most of the game that way.
and i gotta say condemneds running mode, which was really just a fat guy waddle, made me mor emotion sick than that.

Metal gear 2 made a good job of a boat scene, that first part of the game on the tanker was pure awesomeness!shame the rest of the game was crap, especially the plot which made no sense & screwed with the decent plot of metal gear solid :(
