I mean, come on...on the left is the real, on the right is the game. How ball-achingly beautiful is that?!
Mind you, I'm intrigued by this notion that Crysis is "fully scaleable" to suit a variety of rigs up to 3 years old (which I fit into), so that's gonna be interesting as it certainly looks like my sort of game (hell, of course it is!)

*crosses fingers for winning the lotto*
Even a few grand would afford me a beasty-bitch new gaming PC that could kick even Crysis' ass.
Crysis is hardcore videogaming porn, I'm talkin gag-blow-jobs dirty-messy ... it's a total whore and it loves it.

Apparently vista needs a hell of an overhaul before it will be a decent OS for gaming, ive heard a few horror stories about how it refuses to run ANYTHING without having to do some really geeky tinkering about with it

Remember how may iterations of "Far Cry" there were for consoles? They were still making them up until the Wii launch. Rest assured, consoles will see some sort of Crysis game, even if it isn't this exact one.

Damn, judging by those specs I've got no hope in hell of running that game ... I guess it'll be console ports for me ... when I eventually get a 360, which is looking good actually, I potentially got some more days work, this afternoon, on a project I'm working on. :)

well you can still tell slightly that the left one isnt real, but god damn its cool, id love to see something like final fantasy 9's opening redone with that level of graphical capability:cool:

Yeah, I would say that it's almost guaranteed that this'll come to the 360, as will S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Left 4 Dead.

Er, hellsing, the one on the left is the real pic, the one on the right is the game.
If they're going ramp out a console version of STALKER they'd better get their asses in gear, they can't hang around for a year and then pop it out due to all the delays they've had...which reminds me, NINE F*CKIN' DAYS LEFT, BITCHES!

Better get those fingers in shape, maybe finger press ups or summat.

*grumbles* bloody computer conked out AGAIN just before I clicked reply...
Anyway, I thought it had come this morning, but it was a package from a guy I'm working with (tapes to transfer to another medium), so I got all hot and bothered thinking it was here, lol.
I hope it gets posted off early so that I get it before it's supposed to come out, or at least on time...*rubs hands* oh baby! :)

Just been reading up about it. Damn, they removed a lot of good s**t from this game. The radiation management by drinking vodka sounded boss as did the refuelling/vehicle operations side as well. I do admit, looks a bit good storywise but the title is the ultimate cheese bite. :D
MinionZombie
16-Mar-2007, 12:50 AM
The stuff they removed was necessary, they had too many ideas and no ability to effectively implement them...I am gutted that they took out vehicles though. :(
Ah well, thunderstorms and rain ... at night ... whilst snooping around pitch black basements as those circling red warning lights whizz about, meanwhile the noise of nuclear-spawn circle around me ... hell-f*cking-yes ... no way will I be playing this game at night though ... although that's a flat out lie. I'll fire it up as I'll be addicted to it, then I'll regret it as I'll have trouble getting to sleep.

If it gets a good score, I'll probably give it a whirl myself. I really like the idea of radiated plantlife and animals. The game of The Thing had a system that when you buddies turn into a 'thing' it generates the creature randomly so it's different everytime. I wonder if they'll be using the same system with Stalker?
MinionZombie
16-Mar-2007, 01:51 AM
Your buddies don't really go all "Thing" on you in STALKER ... and sadly, that system, while nifty, wasn't implemented very well. Several times you'd test someone, they'd be clear, you'd cross a trigger point and they'd still bust out...
Not sure how the radiation system in STALKER works with NPCs, with you it takes your health down a bit if you swish past it, but if you're around it too long (like a radiation-soaked truck) then you'll get unreversible radiation poison and eventually die ... kinda nifty element.

...with an illuminous yellow nose. :D
The more I plough through the previews the more I'm getting to like it, I may have been hasty in my initial judgement. Still, the Roger Corman-like title has to go!

What's wrong with "STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl"? ... better than "Oblivion Lost" which was the original sub-title...and hell yeah you barged in with your assumptions to fast, mister! :sneaky:
capncnut
16-Mar-2007, 01:01 PM
Yeah but with a name like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. they might as well have gone all the way and called it Invasion of the Radioactive Turds or summat. If the game Oblivion hadn't been released prior then Oblivion Lost would have been a far better choice. The game has been in production for so long now I wouldn't be surprised if that was the actual reason why it was changed.
MinionZombie
16-Mar-2007, 01:19 PM
Shadow of Chernobyl makes more sense, especially as the nuclear plant is in the game itself, and you are playing 'in the shadow' of it.
Oblivion Lost makes no sense whatsoever. And "STALKER" relates to the movie and the book Roadside Picnic, so it's actually quite intelligent. :sneaky:

yous knows both themgames are gonne have mutant soldiers or something near the halfway point.
ill be glad if they dont but thats radiation in gameing clihce' no.1.

Yeah but they took out the vehicles man. I would love to run those mutoids over, like Emil from Robocop. :D
MinionZombie
16-Mar-2007, 08:24 PM
Yeah, it was proper gheay that they took vehicles out, I hope they bring them back in, because you could go yomping around running monsters over.
Yes, there are zombie soldiers, those are the ones - the next stage if you will - after soldiers who've just gone flat out crazy, those are the ones who can still use their guns against you.
Hellsing, you're too jaded, lol. :p

damn straight i am, and i allways think everythigngs "a scam" but come on, did i call it or what?:D
MinionZombie
17-Mar-2007, 11:30 PM
Call what? It's pretty easy to call, nuclear-shiv already makes mutations, you can't have a game about nuclear fallout disasters and not have mutations and crazy people all sicked-up and freaky-eyed. :rockbrow:
Danny

y'know i think if there was one like that coming out, it'd be the first.
crazy mutants seem to be madatory huh?:)

Well then that's STALKER, filled with mutants of all sorts and crazy and/or zombie STALKER's who've all gone mad (there's a great bit in a cinematic they keep dropping into trailers of a STALKER who's gone nuts, he's in an underground corridor, with merely one circling red warning light for illumination, he's panicked and glancing all around him ... creepy as shiite).

Resurrecting an old thread here but as I was forced into upgrading my PC recently and am now running a Phenom II 955 quad core, GTX275, windows 7 64 bit, and 4GB DDR3 ram, I'm now able to fully max out Crysis 4 years after I bought the game! Just been playing through it tonight and its still pure eye candy after all this time, especially with all the lovely smoothing AA settings cranked right up which I've never been able to do up until now  some parts of it are showing age a tad because I've noticed in newer games recently (like DN Forever) they seem to use different ways of rendering now which Crysis doesnt leaving some things looking a little too sharp, but damn its still gorgeous & the sound effects still rock! I'm hoping to finish it finally this week as previous hardware used to just cry and crash when I got to the final boss
Oh and anyone who ran this game on max settings back in '07 when it came out must have had some serious cash lying around to squeeze these settings out of the hardware around at the time!!! damn rich kids.....

Yeah back in 07 I had this small form PC that ran a GTS 8600 256mb gfx card - it was a good dx9 machine - but when Crysis came out with DX10 it totally destroyed my system.
Now my system maxes out any game there is so I'd love to get this one going again and see it in all its glory...
