I may trade in my old 360 towards one, but I doubt it. I do plan on picking up a black controller, though. The 120 gig hard drive leads me to believe that Microsoft is getting serious about online media distribution. Even though we can only rent them now, I don't think it will be much longer until we can buy HD movies off of Xbox Live.

It's tempting. :sneaky:

nothing tempting about buying a subpar system that burns itself out.

Kinda like the tommy chong of videogame systems.

The achievements are stored in Microsofts system, not yours. If you switch hard-drives you'll still have the same number of points.

It comes with a hard drive transfer cable, so you can put any old saves on the new HD. The added HDMI port is really tempting me to buy the Elite.

I wont be buying the full elite. All I want is that 120gig detachable HDD. Everything else in the Elite system I don't really need.

I am still going to trade mine in for a newer 360. I still get freeze ups. Don't know if they will let me trade in mine for an elite and pay the diffrence. Plus, I have all that data on my harddrive. Is there a way to transfer data to the pc? I figured Microsoft console/ Microsoft pc program. They would find a way, right? Btw, mods go ahead and merge the two 360 elite threads.

I'll probably do the same.

Maybe I am just blessed by the console Gods, but I'm still waiting for my system to freeze like everyones seem to be doing. And my 360 is pretty much on 12 hours a day. If I'm not playng on it my brother is spending all night playing FFXI on it.

after having read it,and seen the almost 500 quid price tag, as a premium 360 owner, if i had that sort of cash id rather get a ps3 to go with my current 360, granted the price is outragous for any console, but no one on there right mind would pay that for a an upgrade of a console they allreayd own, in fact, what do you recon all the ps3's left in shops are the 20 gig ones?;)

I just got a 360 a couple of weeks ago :( I'd have saved up for longer and got this version...

Next move from Microsoft is a Martin Luther King headset... :D

I'm gonna hopefully be getting one in a couple of months for t'birthday, gonna be reet t'grand and t'all. :)

I duno why I've come over all Peter Kay...anyway, just the core for me, as I'm sure you all know crystal clear by now, haha! I'll get the HDD add-on later...

Anyway, there was an interesting episode of The Gadget Show (the Top Gear of geek tech TV) where they pitted the 3 consoles against a custom spec PC, and the PC won in the end.

Of course, the PC is for the hardcore, and I've been PC gaming for many years now, but I've gotten to a stage where I can't upgrade anymore without an expensive upgrade of key components, so to continue my gaming I wanna get a 360 (had nothing but fun on the original Xbox at uni when one of my housemates bought one - and I pwned at Halo 2 death match ).

It'll be nice for a change, no hardware worries, just buy a game, slap it in, have a blast about - BOSH, job done...but mark my words Capn et al, I will return to PC gaming, with a monster rig (when I can afford it) and I'll buy a back catalogue of gaming awesomeness and blast my nuts off with hours and hours of back-to-back happy-joy-joy-ness! :elol:

*sniffs*

Right ... now just to wait till t'birthday for t'360 t' have some t'fun...

I thought you could get the additional 20gig-or-whatever HDD for £70?

I say ... £150 for the new HDD on it's own...

Any advances? *does that auctioneer junk*

Still amazes me in a time when I can pick up a decent 200 gig hdd for my PC at around the £60-80 mark microsoft have to overcharge for theres. but hey I guess I will wait until the price drops a bit.
