View Full Version : To me, 360, wii and ps3 fanboys are all the same

Honestly, if you look at the **** each side is spewing you can come to the conclusion that most are full of bias ****. Yes, we know 360 boys, the ps3 sucks, even tho it is a more powerful machine. Yes ps3 boys, we know that you think the 360 is a ass backwords **** machine. Yes Wii fan boys, we realize that an innovative remote automatically means that the consule will be the best thing ever made.

Sorry, but i'm sick and tired of how people from each side who don't claim to have any bias whatsoever come out and proclaim their consule as the best, and all others are junk. Sorry guys but I haven't seen anything immpressive enough on any of the machines to warrant me going out and spending my cash on any of them just yet.

Honestly, all the press I seem to find is just endless bashing of one system by a fan of the other in an attempt to make people buy their machine. I mean with arguements like:

"But it's got GoW one ti adn halo 3 will cmoe out soon"
or
"theres blue-ray ddvs one ti, ti blowes the **** out off the otehr consulz"

"Teh remote is so kick azz"

wow, stunning arguements from each camp, really.

I'm not saying any of this applies to members on this board (or maybe it will I haven't paid enough attention to it anymore) but jesus **** faced christ.

(and the spelling errors in the quotes are on purpose, all of the articles i've read have spelling worse then mine is.)

I see what you're saying....it does seem to get that way on the net. I'm not much of a gamer, really. I don't know why, but I bought a 360 one night and it's a good system, I suppose. Is it better than the rest? I dunno......but I bought it and I like it.

i have to admit alot of fanboyism does annoy me, i notice it here, especially against the PS3.

Yea, I just read thru a bunch of old articles on this forum and I realized taht alot of what i am talking about in my post is prevalent here (minus the spelling) and it's all towards the 360 or the wii, and the one person who had something good to say about the ps3 gets more or less shot down...

I can see what youre talking about and Im not sure on the debate even though I have the 360..ps3 appeals.

I think a good debate is fun and fair enough but when it goes into frantic fanboyism then everyone needs to a step back and a slice of romero to pacify.

None of the systems "suck", I just prefer one over the other. Not to mention the 360 and Wii are the big sellers at this point, and more people have them than PS3. Of course there is going to be more discussion about the console that more people have.

Thats not the point i'm making here. Fanboys- nintendo, sony or microsoft automatically disregard the other counsuls as inferior to the one they prefer. And the PS3 is like 600 bucks comapred to the 300 and some for wii? it doesn't mean it's a better system, it means it's not cost effective to buy a consul for 600 dollers when u can get one for half that or even less. Besides, the 360 has been out for how long now? It's like the PS2 and x-box debate. The x-box will never out sell the ps2, but that hardly means that the ps2 is a better system.

I like nintendo myself , but it about the games. Nintendo does make the most a+ games out there. I got tired after the ps1 and n64 age of fighting over which system is better. one will always hav a advantage over the other. But the bottom line is the games... Some thing all systems have. Each system will have that killer APP and or new franchise, and must have game.

Now quit being selfish and buy all 3 o them :P

its the games not the capabilities of the console that maeks it, my 360's been dusty since like january, but my newly aquired ps2 has been getting about 4 hours play a day at least.

I could be considered a Nintendo Fanboy, but then again, I like Nintendo because their games are fun and thats what matters to me when it comes to gaming.

As for the PS3 vs. 360, I am biased against Sony because of how I was treated after having multiple PS2 problems. They treated me like I was trying to rip them off when I called to have my system repaired for the second time with the "Disk Read Error" since they didn't fix it properly the first time. The customer service rep was rude, accused me of dropping the system, accused me of having dirty games (my games are kept clean and in great shape) and the killer thing was that the game I put in when the system didn't work was a brand new game. They also told me it would cost $50 to get it fixed if I paid by credit card over the phone or $75 if I sent in payment with the system and also said that there was no guarantee that they would fix my system and that they do not give refunds. Then the rep went as far as to say "Well, you got enough play time out of it so if it can't be fixed it's time to buy a new one."

Is there any wonder why the PS2 is the best selling console of all time when they were prone to breaking constantly and their reps told people to just buy a new system.

Anyway, yes the PS3 has more processing power than the 360, there is no denying that, however, the 360 has a lot more RAM than the PS3, so miniscule difference in processing power is eaten up by the 360 being able to process more things at once with its extra ram.

On a personal level, I will not buy another Sony console and it is hard to buy any Sony product after how I was treated when their defective product broke on me. I also do not recommend them to people who ask me because 2 people I know have had similar problems with Sony when their PS2s broke. I can only imagine how many problems the PS3 will develop as the months pass, if it is anything like its predecessors it will be loaded with problems that cause even more redesigns.

I never had any problems with my ps2...of course, I bought mine two years after it was released. I've gotten pissed at losing to GTA san andreas in the mission where u fly that damnit remote control plane..so I took my ps2 out and dropped a 10 pound weight on it for about an hour straight from around 4 feet. It still works fine and that was a year ago almost I think.

The only problem i've had with it was the addictiveness of it...now, don't me started on the gc..I hated that damn thing and still do.

man was i pissed...kinda stupid almost destroying a 200 doller machine over one game lol

Bang on there. What some people don't realise is that the 'haters' hate for a reason and not just to flame for the hell of it. I had nothing but problems with my P$2 and less than a year after I bought the console, it packed up permenantly. I paid over £400 quid for it on launch and had nothing to show for it. I tried to get customer support but because my funds were low at the time, I couldn't afford the £100 they wanted for it's repair. Yes, £100 the dirty rotten stinking thieves and for that reason I too shall never buy another $ony console!

The only thing i have to say is the PS3 cooling system is the bottom half of the console, and it still overheats  you could get a suntan off the damn thing.

I've been lucky so far, I got a first generation PS, PS2 and Xbox and they all lasted me into 5 years. Im praying my 360 (bought on the PS3 launch date ironically) will hold out just as well.

Mista_Mo, I'm assuming you mean the *drooling* fanboys are they are so eloquently put ;)

Y'know, you guys could solve this problem all together if ya just bought a damn PC.

(sorry, you know I just had to go there.. :D Relax, I was just kidding! :))

Actually, I own a 360, and the only reason I don't own a PS3 is because of the price. No other reason. For the price of a PS3, I could build the core of a killer PC rig, so I just don't see the need to buy a console for that price. Again, I'm biased because I enjoy PC gaming better than console, but, I digress.

Some people here have hit the nail on the head: doesn't matter what system it is, as long as the console runs good, is durable, and the games are a blast to play. If you get any enjoyment out of your console, there's no reason to bash the other. Just stand up proudly and say "I OWN A.....<insert console name here>" and leave it at that. Who cares about the others on the market? You've got what you want. Now, sit down, STFU, and play your games and have some fun. :D

I've owned a PS2 for a few years now, and I'm happy to say I've never had a lick of problems with it. Mine is one of the original "larger" PS2's, not the smaller compact one they introduced a few years back, and it's been a flawless machine for me. That's not to say I haven't heard the horror stories of breaking consoles and the woes of trying to have them repaired. If that happened to me, damn right i'd be biased against Sony or whoever the console manufacturer was.

And you know what, I never mentioned all the problems I had with the original Playstation. The first one broke for no apparent reason and my second system stopped working. I paid the $50 to get it fixed at the time because I didn't want to pay $150 to get a new one and then a few months later I recieved a letter in the mail about a class action lawsuit brought against Sony due to them knowing about the over heating problems and not fixing them.

So, I have multiple reasons for not liking Sony game consoles. The only problem is, there are so many great games on them (except the P$3 so far) that they are hard not to own. If only those developers would drop Sony and start putting the games out on the 360 or the Wii... oh wait, they are already doing that.

Oh yeah, on a final note, I got my NES in 1986 as a birthday present from my Grandfather. The thing still works almost 21 years later.

Mine broke....well....rather.... the output situation broke.....it still shows the games....but all snowy .....when I fiddle with the output I can sometimes get a good picture....but nothing long lasting....I need a good soldering iron

My God, what are you doing to your poor gaming systems?!

I have to admit, I've been lucky with every gaming system I own. None of them have broke or given me sh*t thank goodness. Atari 2600, Sega Genesis (with the SegaCD unit - remember that piece or worthless sh*t?), Nintendo/NES, Xbox, PS, PS2, X360... guess i'm an anomaly in the universe.

Now where'd I put that four leaf clover...? :)

Don't forget the 32X. *L* I am glad I didn't buy that piece of crap. By combining the Sega Genesis, Sega CD, and 32X you will get a generic Saturn. Bullsh!t. Btw, they dropped the price of the PSP. It is now $169.99.

The worst I ever did as a teen was chuck the controller across the room or give the tv screen a slap. Never even dreamed of dropping weights on my game console, that serves no purpose whatsoever.

Nothing other than playing them. I have broken some controlers in my time when I was younger, but I never actually did anything to my consoles until my PS2 stopped working, now it needs a smack on the side to work sometimes.

The only consoles I have had problems with were my Sony consoles. I have had many Nintendo products over the years and they all still work, my Atari 2600 still works, my xbox has never once given me any problems (except when I didnt realize the controler was unplugged at the trip cord part, but that doesn't count).

Lunar the SIlver Star and Eternal blue were absolutely the ebst RPGs I ever played. I even got my name in the credits for the PS1 version of eternal blue because I won a haiku contest from Working Designs :D
