i dont own one, nor do i really want one, i like going on the bus and trains as advanced as the stereos and that are but thee still just metal shells pushed by a combustion engine so i dont feel safe in them, at least theres fat people on the bus to sit near, jsut in case a crash ensues.;)

My wife drives the 1988 Astro van, a nice shade of red, gray, rust and dents.(should be replaced by next month)
When I get my 91 Taraus wagon runnning I'll be driving that again, a lovely rusted out pile of crap.
And my only somewhat reliable car the 93 sundance, teal but a crappy year for car paint.
By the end of the year I plan on being down to 2 decent cars. I hate having to own a van, time to start selling children.

An L-reg peugot 106, aka the BAV (Busted-Ass Vehicle). It's my friend except for when I'm on the motorway or going up hills (it does 0-60 in about half an hour so neither of those environments are good for it really). My ideal car would be the Batmobile, or failing that, one of those new(ish) Chysler mobster car thingers. In pinstripe. *slurp*

theyre a lot smaller than SUVs/4x4s id say, its a front wheel hatchback/station wagon type thing.
i dunno, there's no good reason for the liking, they just look cool, they look like the cars in the 90s batman cartoons, or GTA2, they have a sorta neo/retro look about them that sets them apart from most other cars these days

I've still got my old Nissan 200SX... Bought it back in 95 when it was 3yrs old.... And had it since!
A couple of years ago I thought what the hell, and replaced the suspension and shocks to lower/improve its handling. I also put an induction kit and sports exhaust on it along with a boost controller to up its power.
At 15+ years old, she's just coming up to 86,000 miles now...

Kind I have : 1997 Chevy conversion van custom 325 hp (w/ out the ac on ) 66,000 miles as of this week , been fanatical about maintaining it .Gift from my grandfather in 2001 . Lots of space , Pioneer 500 watt system for the tunes . Ammo crates in the back (lol)
In high school I had a '76 Gran Torino 2 door /flat black/ phase 4 headers twin over head cams v8 " b!tch is born to run ", shift kit , 0-60 in 4.5 sec (as I remember ) I even had Monza headlight covers . It looked suspiciously like a car from a certain movie , hmmm (scratches chin) ... I wrapped it around a tree on new years eve , 1982 while listening to "Breaking the Law" ... Golly gee , time has its way of making things seem so distant . (sigh)

However I drive a Skoda Fabia (yeah alright Andy you can stop laughing now cos I don't care!!)
My Vauxhall Nova died last year :( I loved that car I really did and if they still made em now I would have another but they only went up to K reg :(
So I bought a Skoda, cheap, reliable and loads of room but I have found it nowhere near as nippy as my little Nova.

Ach, it's what all wifes do I reckon. Either get their car in the garage, or they find a way to shaft their geezer's motor outside.
My dad's car is outside while my Mum's (which I drive for 95% of the time at the moment) is in the garage...mind you, my Mum's is a Renault Clio and my dad's is a big Audi A6 which literally only fits by a mere whisker ... seriously, you'd think a garage would be built to accommodate your larger motor whenever possible.

I hope you know a good mechanic. The GM J-body cars had a LOT of problems.
you know, i have a 2000 j-body with 184000 miles and problems are few and far between, mostly because i bought it from a friend who took good care of it and subsequently i did as well.
i did have a 96 cavalier which burst into flames whilst off and cold; maybe vandalism, maybe the fact that i raped the poor old girl by driving from Anchorage to NYC in about 4 and a half days. Then driving it back.
but this one has only 8000 miles on it so i'm hoping with great maintenanace (and Warranty!) it will last well into the 200000 mark.

I just got sold a turkey - with no recourse the only option is to repair it and flog it off...
It was a vauxhall corsa....it was cool, but the headgasket went and now the radiator's gone, and the engine block won't last a year apparently...
So today I test drove and offered to purchase a 1.4 Puegeot 307 - 2001 model, it's got all mod cons, half the mileage of my old car, and just all round better drive....
Just a shame i've had to lose close to a grand just to get out of this mess.

I Was in a Vauxhall taxi the other day... Over 440,000 mile, on the same engine!
My Mum used to have a Vauxhall Cavalier, it was an A reg, kinda like this one:

I was just a wee lad getting driven around in that, hehe, I have fond memories of it. It eventually got changed in 1995 (to the car which I now currently drive, as a matter of fact)...got sold to some lad as his first car, the lad of the people who run the local sports shop in town if I remember correctly ... I think the connection came when I was getting new rugby/football boots for school.
Cor, look at all the memories coming back, eh...if I'd been older, that would have been my first car. :)
