I think it's good in a way that HPOTD doesn't advertise. I mean do you want every a hole on the internet spamming this place up? I know that most of us found this because we're zombie nuts and we searched long and hard for a place like this and we were rewarded. Subsequently, for the most part we all get along and have common interests.

I have noticed that. The thing is, whenever a good, long discussion gets going, everyone tries to shut the thread down by saying "why beat a dead horse", "why dont you guys just give it up", etc. It is hard to have it both ways.

IMOHO there are just too many fourms and specific topics. Remakes, dawn day and dead, other zombie flicks only need one fourm. I am not a fan of hopping around fourms. Mayby twice a month I will go through boards other than GD.

The old bords were awsome.

As I always say - peaks & troughs.

Sometimes HPOTD is nothing but posting activity and it's almost too hard to keep up with it, other times it chills out a bit.

Like has been said before, I'm glad HPOTD doesn't advertise, it keeps the hoardes of nobhead spammers away, there's other forums for that crowd, HPOTD is kinda like that neat little shop you find down the back alley of your local town/city which has a load of cool things in it and the couple of staff are just friendly and hang out with a joint burnin' under the counter. :D

Sounds like a HEMP shop I used to visit when I lived in Pennsylvania. :D

There was/is this comic book store down one of the backstreets of Norwich, but I never could find it again as I'm sh*t at directions ... ironic really as my spatial awareness is quite good. :D

Anyway, it was well expensive as I remember, but it was pretty cool in there, a whole bunch of weird stuff, it was like Fantasy Bazaar or whatever it's called in Spaced ... but bigger ... and most likely more expensive ... and Bill Bailey wasn't there.

Anyway, I was buying a couple of things including a Last House on the Left t-shirt and the dude was asking me if I'd ordered the DVD (as it had just been un-banned here in the UK) and we had a little conversation about it, seemed like nice blokes you could just chat up a nerd storm with...if I wasn't lazy and seduced by the student loan, I'd have liked to get a job there so I could live out my Spaced fantasy a little bit more.

If you keep the community small, you know where you've got everyone. If it grows big enough with one post every minute, it's impossible to keep up and people loose their personality and everyone is just massed into a large commune of perfect socialist republics.

Like it should be.

It's funny

I discovered this forum long before another popular zombie forum and used to just loved the main page 'zombie music'. For some reason I went to the other forum though; and got booted

I questioned them posting pornography; I'm not a prude by any means, but wondered why they were allowing porn to ber posted with youngsters and got booted.

Then I came here and I am glad I did. No one here ever seems to have any attitude and generally seems to be friendly. :o :p

I think it has been slow here for a few reasons, the first being that there are just so many forums now. I find myself not visiting as much as I used to because of all the different forums, there are just too many with too many posts to go through them all and keep up.

Another reason I think it been slow is that this is a zombie forum and there really arent many zombie movies coming out. Sure there are a few of them, but the most active I can remember the Forums in the 4-5 years I have been a visitor was a couple years ago when we had all the movies coming out. At the same time, we had a lot of idiots, so I am kind of glad for the break from them. I like everybody here even though I disagree with a few of them, I am glad we don't have idiots here.

I Know its a small fix, but the reason we decided to move the living (general) catergory up above the hosted forums is so that you dont have to scroll past them to get to the general section.. aside from the hosted catergory, there's only been 3 forums added (the lounge, ask staff and dead remakes) apart from those, we only have the forums we had on the old board :)

When a mainstream zombie game / movie comes out it should get busy me thinks.

Yeah, maybe I'm just getting lazy.

However, I have told probably 100 or so people at the Blockbuster to check this place out. I am suprised that none of them have signed up, a few have come back to tell me they love the place.

Again, peaks & troughs.

A couple of weeks ago it was heaving, then it calms down, but guaranteed in a couple of weeks or so it'll be back to heaving. It's a rollercoaster here and it depends entirely on the people who post, sometimes they're too busy to come here a lot, other times they might have a lot more free time...

...and so continues the rollercoaster of activity that is HPOTD. :)

Well guys, I used to post and hang out a lot here.

What has turned me off of HPOTD over the last 8 - 10 months is, it seems, there are just too many "I know everything" types around that can tell you in an instant your wrong, but can never admit it themselves.

The "High and Mighty" attitude that seems to have bloomed so abundantly is my main reason for not coming around much anymore.

I still check on the boards frequently, mostly hoping to see news about Diary or another zom flick, but rarely do I post anymore.

(Let the flames begin!)

I don't really see, or recognise anyway, the attitudes you're talking about. I have seen it occasionally, but it's a minority, fringe event.

I've seen people get into long winded discussions where nobody changes their opinion because they're both as equally dedicated to their convictions, it can get heated, but not that much if at all...hell I've been in discussions like that.

I don't really see any attitudes, at least not very often, of someone who places their opinion and entire being even, above another poster...hmmm...

All different experiences for different people I guess...horses for courses, each to their own and other such statements. :)
