They are milking though, but it looks good.
He is right about being pushed too.
After the first time, it is as easy as breathing.

Damn, that looked great. Though it may just be the nostalgia of the old Rambo movies and the ultra-violence clouding my judgment. Ah well, I'll be there opening day :D

w00t-w00t for Rambo IV (and the use of the Land of the Dead OST :D)
I'll be honest, I loved Rocky 6 but I thought Rambo 4 was a step too far, but damn - this looks f*cking top notch fun, proper violence - the decap, the gut slice and my personal favourite - the bit where Rambo guns that bloke in the driver's seat of the truck from close range with that massive AA gun thingy, DAMN!!!:cool:
I'm so up for this movie, it's untold.

Is it just me, or did anyone else hear parts of the Land of the Dead score?

Yes, as mentioned in a similar post over in the LotD forum. Good catch.

Looks just like the last two films.....all action and no story to hold it together. "First Blood" was the only one worth a damn.
"Killin is as easy as breathin" What a joke.

Bah! Who cares, he shoots a guy with an AA gun at point blank range and literally blows him apart!
I bet there's some story in there somewhere, judging from Rocky 6, it's bound to be the case, it's just that being an action movie, that's the key focus of advertising for such things.
Bring it the f*ck on I say!

*borat voice on* HIGH FIIIIVE *yashimash!* :D
I'm totally amped to see Rambo 4 now, the violence made my jaw drop - and that's a rarity these days - so that's a big thumbs-up...I also picked up on a subtext of "you fly-by-night liberal do-gooders really don't know what life is like here, do you?" with the whiner bitching at John-freakin-Rambo - excuse me love, but that dude's done a damn sight more good that you'll ever manage by mugging up to Comic Relief cameras.
Bring on JR!

I smell a "Tango and Cash 2" coming.
But I guess it would have to be "Ray Tango and Gabe Cash" seeing as how Stallone seems to think that adding the characters' full names make the film an original idea.

you know ,not to knock you thinking but since rocky balboa got released ive heard that joke dozens of times:rolleyes:
and stallone is making a sequel to daylight and the demolition man apparently.
make of that what you will though.

Doesn't surprise me. He's a has-been. In my opinion, he hasn't acted a decent role for ten years. "Cop Land" being his last great.

Ooh, I duno mate, Rocky Balboa was a f*cking great movie, he acted his wrinkly nut sack off in that flick, and bring on Rambo 4 (one more, for fun :))...
Demolition Man 2? Hmmm...sceptical for now, but I loved the first film, I really did. Daylight 2? Okay...now that's pushing...
He's got the sequel fever alright, but it's better than remake fever!
I see he avoided jail time in Aussie for owning up to having body building drugs on his person, but ach well, I say leave him alone, he'll tire himself out soon enough anyway...at least we get some rockin' flicks out of it, some blasts to the past.

He's just trying to make some bank before he retires for good. He is pushing 60 isnt he? He wont be able to do any action in his 60s for films I am guessing, so hes doing it now to make some money since i doubt he will get any serious roles to act in. I say more power to him.
Danny
22-May-2007, 06:57 PM
yeah good point, plus if rocky 6 was any sign these sequels beat the hell out of remakes.

Yeah, but it was basically the same as the original film. I think so, anyway.

and thats a bad thing?
MinionZombie
22-May-2007, 07:10 PM
That was part of the point in Rocky 6, Stallone himself said that ideally you could watch part 1 and then part 6 and get the whole story, they'd compliment each other perfectly. But Rocky 2 through 5 were basically the same movies as well, repetition is part of the appeal of the franchise, but there's also a clear throughline with the character...the structure of the films is very similar, but the story itself continues marvellously, we've now got Rocky's entire life mapped out in film form...I think it's great, and really inspirational.

i agree i really wasnt sure about rocky 6 but stallone played the nostalgia card perfectly, much more so than that waste of film terminator 3, how it got to that from the frikkin' amazing judgement day is beyond me.
-i suspect witch-craft.

I suspect nobhead writers, a director with no proper vision, a bunch of dodginess and no talent all round. :elol::D T3 was utter sh*t.
Rocky 6 though, utter brilliance. A true ending to the saga. :)

ehh....I just felt like I was watching the original film all over again. And I didn't want to see the same thing.
Not saying it was horrible....it wasn't. But it was a cut and paste, in my opinion.

Funny you should say that Bass, but that's been rumoured for a while now.
But if Kurt Russell sticks to his convictions, it'll never happen, he said in an interview he officially doesn't "do" sequels, except for Escape From LA, which he said was more for the opportunity to work with JC one last time as well as revisit the character of Plissken that he personally really relished playing.
And he reckons the remake is gonna be sh*t, the dude's all class.:)
