O.K. guys the above thread started by fartpants got me to thinking. What is the worst video game you've ever played? Doesn't matter which gen or year. Come on, you know there's a game that you think is just hideous. Spill it!!!
Here's a link to help get it started. You definitely can't argue with his number one. E.T.!?! what a crapfest that was.:barf: Millions of copies were dumped in a landfill 20 some odd years back.

Easy, that one goes to Bruce Lee - Quest Of The Dragon (http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox/action/bruceleequestofthedragon/review.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gssummary&tag=summary;review) for the Xbox. A game that has licensed Jeet Kune Do moves and Taky Kimura motion capture but still somehow manages to be one of the s**tiest beat 'em up's that ever graced a console.

We would be remiss if we didn't give Superman for the N64 and Aquaman honorable mention. Notice how they're both superhero titles? lol:eek:

Hmmm...Enter The Matrix - utter tosh.

Back to the Future 3 on Mega Drive, what a load of tripe, unfortunately.

Pariah - bloody boring as shiite, did not give a single sh*t, yet for some reason I played all of the damn thing! *sheesh*

There's more, but I'd rather go to bed/watch porn/slice up zombies on Dead Rising instead of talking about the bad ones.

Most Superhero titles are terrible. I remember a Marvel vs Streetfighter game on the P$one that wasn't too bad and Spiderman was great on the Megadrive/Genesis. Other than those two though, The Hulk, Superman, X-Men - nigh on all of those franchises have churned out below par games. :dead:

The worst game I ever played was alien resurrection for the ps1. Every time I popped that game in the movement would give me terrible motion sickness. :barf:

I beat that f*ckin' game! I went through that sh!t, beat the living **** outta everything...You can control the vertical pitch and yaw of your turning speed in the options menu. I loved it. It is a very hard game, you can & will get lost on the Sulaco...I am a total fan of the Alien films and it was, (if you have the patience, I mean no judgment call there) a cool time. Around every corner there is something that wants a piece of you.

I dislike aaaaaaaaaannnnnyyyyything that is side scroll .:barf:

"Mace" 'whatever' that Henry Rollins did the voice for, it was a fps in space.
It was ok , but like some games where it seems like they ran out of ideas, so they put in puzzles. I am more willing to cut the red/green/blue wire ...
Red Faction & RF 2 were a little eh..."Timesplitters" & "Future perfect' got irritating when you had to solve the puzzles, WTF! But, the map maker feature of the second one was cool.

Anything side scroll (to me) is really lame.

The fps drew me into the gaming experience. 1999, I played Quake 2 on the pc and I was hooked.I thought to myself , " Finally , game design has caught up with my imagination." The fps is more visceral for me, it makes 'mission of action' more personal.

Finally, the worst I must say was ... it was soo bad I think I blotted it out:lol:

Gaming has a journey for us all, its our choices that make the fun of it.

Spiderman 3 for the Wii
- It's a PS2 port
- it's a step back from Spiderman 2 visually, gameplay wise and everything else.
- A lack of detail in Manhatten and Roosevolt Island.
- No playable Venom or Green Goblin.
- You just beat up gangs, rush people to ambulences and thats it.

It's redeemed by some cut scenes and Web swinging with the remote is fun. here's hoping Spiderman 4 is fully in Treyarchs hands.

another awful one was that star wars 2d fighter they had circa 96' for the playstation. I'm cursing myself for not remembering the name but trust me it wasn't woth remembering, I mean star wars, fighting how could they screw that one up? I don't know either, we'll just have to ask Lucas Arts.

Actually, I still got that game. The magazines were very over generous and gave it around 7 out of the 10. But yeah, you know when a fighting game has gone wrong when there's a move for Han Solo's blaster, a tricky one too I might add. And who can remember the Gamorrean Guard, Thok? Everytime a battle started I was on the floor crying, "Luke Skywalker versus Thok". Were they Thoking crazy!

-Daikatana - PC Recall some guys in a computer store trying to play the game on the current PC's at that time. Guy had to shrink down his screen size to a 3x3 inch box to get it to run properly.

Shadow of the colossus. Worst 20 bucks i ever spent. The enviroments are totally devoid of life. All you do is go around and slay 16 giants in order to revive your dead girlfreind. Every battle is basically the same. Find the giant, find a spot to climb on find his weak spot and slay his ass. For giants theses guys are real push overs. None of them seem to be able to reach their heads or shoulders in order to smash you (very lame). One wonders how they wipe their asses. the way you kill them is really phony as well. The sword you have is the equivelant of a toothpick.

I would have to say that the absolute worst game I have ever played was Beyond the Beyond on Playstation. It was an RPG game with a horrible story and no direction for anything. Basically, all that one does to play it is walk from town to town hoping to find somebody that tells you what to do or possibly stumble on the next part of the horrible story line.

Then came the exploring of areas your not supposed to be at yet... and instant death.

That game was garbage, much worse than any others I have played, and I have played many bad games.

Now that's just lazy programming, you could never get away with that today.

darth los
10-Jun-2007, 07:26 PM
That is lazy programming cap. I think that plauges alot of games as well as movies. Alot of them have the potential to be so much more if more effort were put into them. Gives us an insight as to what there motivation for releasing the game was (money). Anybody who's serious about their craft would never put out an inferior work product. It reflects very poorly one them. The only one who seems to be immune to that is your man uwe boll cap. :p

Some superhero games were sweet (Spiderman for the Sega Genesis and Psone for starters) but I have to agree that The Hulk was a pile of cack. The movie was just about sufferable but the game was one of the blandest titles out that year when it should have been awesome. Not even the sharper graphics on the Xbox could save it!
